Daily goals, motivation and check in

Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

Note* Ive just started this thread again so it will be visible. Once I deleted my account it no longer shows up.

please join in again if and when needed.

Sorry for the lack of English. It was sooo bad on that other thread too.

Have you noticed that a lot of people here make exactly the same spelling mistakes @Teej ? I’m talking about the there / their and to / too ones, and missed words etc ..... and it doesn’t matter ..... everybody is reading it as how it should be and accepting it as fine. I think it only really matters in more formal correspondence. As in the way kids are taught in the classroom now, the focus is more on the meaning and communication. I like that ..... and I love how you write .... and I wish you weren’t so self-conscious about it .....

You can borrow my autocorrect Fairy excuse if you like 😏 ..... I’m sticking by that .....

I have been coming back through the TT thread, and I love that you both added input there. Thank you from me ..... my S2’s diagnosis is helping me understand our whole family better, including my sister ... and it helps to know that pd’s can be transient .... in that they move and change, and are positively influenced through therapy.

Absolutely - the spelling/grammar stuff doesnt make any difference at all, as the meaning is what is coming through. I semi purposefully don't correct everything, reread and edit or fix my mistakes (not sure if i've mentioned but i have a masters in applied linguistics which equated to grammar and functional literacy development) hehe, language really is about making meaning and communication... which you do perfectly, as @Faith-and-Hope has said.
Except miss @Faith-and-Hope (lol) i have to say that in classrooms we teachers are definitely trying to teach the formal English language and all its rules and conventions lol... for me, that also means teaching kids where and when what levels of English formality is needed and appropriate 😄
hugs to all.

Wow ... congrats on that study achievement @Former-Member ....with everything else you had to juggle .... you managed that too ❣️

I am hoping one day to go back and achieve an art degree .... might be in my 70’s like my grandma .....

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

it was a long time ago now that i did that @Faith-and-Hope i did it during maternity leave with my youngest, and he's turning 7 soon! so perhaps most of it has just leached out of my brain, study used to help me with focus and sanity, i needed something to achieve and it was 'allowed' by my ex because it was long distance/online and kept me home and isolated, and i never let it interrupt my wife duties, so didnt interfere with anything in the home back then...

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

I am so glad you did it anyway @Former-Member .... it’s a credit to you.

I started my course over 30 years ago now. I don’t think I will be receiving any credits from my original units .... lol ....

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

😞 no, there is a 10 year limit at most universities, but its still not 'wasted' in any sense and doing a full degree now you would get the most out of the opportunities... i guess its not all about the piece of paper at the end but what you gain through the course... I hope that you are able to do your arts degree as I'm sure you would be amazing! I dont know much about arts degrees, what would your focus be? @Faith-and-Hope ?

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

My focus is likely to be painting @Former-Member .... that seems to be my forte. A professor I spoke to last year presumed on it after seeing some of my work, but part of an art degree is exploring other media and forms. Sculpture and jewellery-making interest me, but I have also worked with ceramics, weaving, print-making and textiles .... and I consider cooking a form of art .... lol .....
