I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in
I mourn the time of my life. When there was no medication interfering with my natural chemical make up... It has occurred to me recently... That my present life revolves around trying to return to my previous physical and mental states... But unfortunately cannot due to the medication side effects...

Hey @Shaz51 Have you got any special daily goals atm.
Mine are just to get through each day.
I hear you re meds @eudemonism Its a bit*h.
I think it is a good idea to embrace your sleep if you havent done that before.
One of the best things that happened to me was the realisation that I had had enough sleep and felt like bouncing out of bed. Note I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON ... I have done a lot of night work too, so it was a big thing for me. I had been sleep deprived for about 20 years for one reason or another. Now I know I am not sleep deprived. Looking on the bright side ... At least one problem sorted ... TICK.
Take care All

Running on less than 3 hours sleep the last few nights and so tired of the exhaustion. If i could find a way to deal with sleep, and get some sleep... regularly i think i'd probably be able to deal with half of the stresses that knock me around better... the other half would still be as hard but maybe i'd manage better. Soooo much to do 😞 But my daily goal is just get through it, which isnt very fulfilling. sorry. must have just needed a whinge today. (lol put those inch long violins away now 😄 )

Hey @Former-Member ...... 💜🌷
Good to see you having a whinge about it ..... no violins here ......
Try to put your head down and close your eyes, with regulated breathing, at several points across the day for 10mins or so ..... that should help you.

@Appleblossom I'm realising a similar thing. It's hard to take on the day when I'm sleep deprived and running on stimulants. It's hard enough just to wake up and get going on good terms. Eude.

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in
@Appleblossom I've been in my unit for about eight years now. And at one stage. The housing lady said. If you want another place. Just ask... But I hesitated. Had a relapse. And the offer got cancelled. I'd like a proper house. A nice sized yard. And a place which opens up more options. A place I only leave in a coffin. Because this place I'm in. Is small. Not real private. And I can't do much with it.
I'm getting a new phone soon. I'm going for regular walks. I've got some rain, hail or shine routines. I've cleared all the bills up, so I can do a decent shop. I may be in a position to upgrade to a 4wd in a few months. I'm going with the fig tree orchard. (easy to grow, low maintenance, high yielding, valuable) I got a food processor, soup stick, and blender, and steamer on my list of things to look for. And need some containers for soups and stews, so I can freeze them. - going to do a batch of coleslaw, potatoe salad, pasta salad, green salad. And some pastries... Pastie slices, egg and bacon pie, potatoe pie, maybe even a steak and kidney pie. (I enjoy the sense of achievement and it's healthy... And I love my food...) Eude.

@eudemonism
Eight years is a good while. Too bad about the relapse, but it sounds as if you have room for figs. I think they are beautiful trees and yes fig jam can be yum.
Great to hear some of your foodie plans. Sometimes a bigger place makes for a lot more work. Its a balance, but a pity if you dont feel private.
Recently my jasmine was cut right back so the fellow over the fence can look straight into my family room. Son is very private so the curtains are closed all the time, but it wont take long for the jasmine to grow over the trellis. In a way the fellow did me a favour by trimming it back as the fence & trellis were about to fall!
I am still frying things up on an old iron skillet I bought when I was 16. I get things from op shops too.
