Good morning and welcome to the forums @Angela17 . I think many of us here relate to that feeling of being so overwhelmed that it feels hard to even move, let alone find a purpose in getting up and going for the day. That has been of great value with this thread ..... leaning on the encouragement of others here to begin putting one foot in front of another with "baby steps".
As @Maggie suggested, starting each day with a tea or coffee is a good way of establishing a Step 1.
When it's hard to find the energy or motivation to even move, this next suggestion can sound strange, but often treatment for what is referred to as "inertia" is the idea of making your bed every day. Even if you lie straight back down on top of it, or in it, just the act of making the bed every day brings a small, simple challenge.
Aking the bed starts with simply finding one end to toss the pillow to, then toss the sheet / blanket / doona over the bed, and give yourself a mental tick - done.
If that is Step1 for you, and tea or coffee is Step 2, then you have a 2-step routine in your day, and you can consider what your Step 3 might be. It can be as simple as putting your two shoes together, side by side, wherever they have landed, or taking a plate to the sink, even if it joins a stack there, or picking up a single empty packet and finding a bin for it ..... baby steps ..... one after another. It start to make a difference.
Inertia comes on in slow stages for most people, and recovery does also. You are not alone.
I missed your tag the other day @frog ..... well done on getting to what you have yesterday ! Hi also @NatureLover @Maggie @Teej.
