@outlanderI think we all think that at times. We feel so needy, we feel that all we do is ask for help. Others need it more. You do know how I feel this way. Yes we do ask for help, however more then often we try and deal with it ourselves so we are not 'bothering' someone else.
I think it is a great thing that you can ask for help more often than you used to, that shows a growth in you. You might not see this within yourself, but I see it. As much as I can say you help me and others on here, I also know that it is hard to believe this.
Gentle steps sweetheart, just concentrate on one thing at a time tonight. Some self soothing perhaps, a warm bath/shower, snuggle in bed with a nice warm cuddly blanket. Make tonight about you hun ![]()

@outlander If pop is stuck on tins and you are upping his nutrition ... then write it off ... and stand your ground with him ... tell him he is better of, to grow up, and stop being a little boy complaining about his vegies ...
The world is often not that kind ... grown men are often immature ...
Keep reaching out Bella ...

Don't be sorry @outlander - it's a good thing to open up and talk about what is ailing us. And in the process we can see for ourselves what the real problems are and the type of help that would benefit us.
When our minds are full with negatives, worries and emotional pain - and this keeps churning around in our minds as you described so well - that is not giving the mind space to enjoy those things we once did. It is dominating and robbing us of any joy. Robbing us of any good in front of us. That is the first warning sign for the need to address a change in our thinking (am going through the same with worry so can relate). To address the catastrophe thinking and doom that robs us of life and inner growth. That's the first thing to deal with. And if we can't do it alone then seeking the services of a counsellor or psychologist that help change that thinking process with perhaps CBT or DBT and putting it in practice is maybe something worth exploring.
I maybe wrong @outlander - but reading your post a few times something stands out to me - you may be suffering from "loneliness". Loneliness is one of the leading causes of depression and it can happen in any age group. You have made friends here which is a good thing and shows you are more than capable of doing so, but I understand it's not the same thing as enjoying friendship in real life. Keep an eye out for any opportunities to mix with others - interest groups are usually a good place to start. Putting ourselves out there and connecting with positive caring people is important to feel happy and for self esteem. Remembering that many feel nervous or inadequate - you aren't alone. There will always be at least "one" person who we will feel comfortable with, who will talk to us. And one or two friends is enough. Harder to do and find in this day and age but not impossible. Even group therapy may be a good place to start?
When we arent well our minds will find any excuse not to pursue those things that can help us. It will find any excuse not to take up new opportunities, interests, groups and help. Don't listen to it @outlander - just do it. Truly - otherwise you will always talk yourself out of it (been there, done that).
You will eventually feel much better for it. Sometimes to create change we have to confront those demons that keep us trapped and do the opposite to what they are dictating. Take heart - you can do this and in time "life will get better". With getting help and joining groups - you will eventually find people to feel good around, who will alrreciate you and will want to be friends with you. It all starts with that first baby step......Take heart.
And talk as much as you need to here and never feel sorry for being real and reaching out for the help that is on offer - talk every day is you feel the need, as we will walk this journey with you. Sending a warm hug xx
