Thanks @outlander @Snowie I can get very passionate when I speak, especially when it comes from my own experiences. I nearly didn't go to this forum, as I thought perhaps it was too close to my last hospital admission; it is suggested that you wait until 6months have passed from last SA/SH as talking about previous experiences too soon can make you vulnerable and triggered. My nursing career has been good in one way that I can often separate myself from my own experiences which is necessary when dealing with patients with similar experiences and issues as me. Otherwise I would be crying and a mess when dealing with them. It doesn't mean I am cold hearted-it is more a protection method necessary for myself. I can't be vulnerable with patients. I still get upset about what I have been through recently, and my experiences in my life, but I can compartmentalise it when needed.

@Sans911they need people to stand up and tell them what it is like and how they can help more. It is the only way people can get the help they deserve. I think your opinion would be so highly valued just like it is on here.
Have I told you how proud I am of you??
I am glad you can compatmentalise it. I hope you are feeling ok tonight from usch a busy day.

thats a very good skill to have though @Sans911 it doesnt mean your less compassionate or caring it just means you can put things aside rather than burning out every shift
im really glad you went and was brave enough to speak your mind, of course you will still be upset about recent events. that doesnt change overnight either but i think this is a really positive step for you
if and when your up for it, i think it would be good to share it on your wellbeing thread too (but no pressure either)
hows your day been today?
@Snowieare you going ok still?
