Re: rough time

@outlander - you are so sleep deprived and overwhelmed right now, and although it's uncomfortable and frustrating with the weight gain, try not to focus too much on it right now. There'll be time to loose the weight later. And stress really messes up your hormones too, do it may not necessarily be your meds. I too have gained weight and many of my clothes no longer fit. So it is super irritating. But I have minimal where you levels to do anything about it.

And maybe the nurse was concerned about how much you are taking on in regards to the social group, not that you you can't manage it. I know I have been advised many times to simplify my life to help me manage better.

And you are strong outlander, but at times we can also be vulnerable, which you are now. And that's ok. But you really need greater professional support systems, people who can validate you effectively and encourage and guide you gently. You don't have those in place hun, and you need that desperately as you have minimal personal support.

And tiredness comes from constant stress and anxiety, your physical health issues and sleep deprivation. Just pull back a little if you can, try to get some rest and just take things one step at time.

@Former-Member

@Sans911i really hate the weight gain. its awful and its really getting to me self esteem wise. i use to be so fit and healthy. now i look like an obese zombie.

im not sure what to do, im so torn. people say i need to do things for myself as well and to make my life better and thats what i was hoping the social group was going to help with- make some friends or learn socail skills or both and to get out of the house etc but maybe im wrong? and study i really want to study again. its something i actually really enjoy and find helpful when i need it as welll though can be really hard. but the things i want to do seem to be complicating my life rather than simplifying it.

ive been trying for 3 days to get a hold of this psych- i liked her and wanted to work with her before my mother come along with her ultimatums. my nurse is usually really good and knows me back when i was in school, i thought my gp was good too. my psychiatrist isnt helpful at all but im only there for medications not so much talking. i tried the mh team not that long ago with no success and i was in crisis. i dont know what to do, sometimes i wish i could move areas entirely and just start all over again.

i can feel that breakdown coming and i am trying to prevent it from happening, this is what happened last time crept up then didnt have a choice in anything and was made involuntary. i know that option is there beforehand but i need to sort things out on the outside otherwise ill just come back to the same thing. i feel like such a train wreck right now. i dont know what else to do to help myself, i am trying to improve my life and my situation but i feel like im going in circles and circles and starting to get dizzy.

Re: rough time

okay @outlander, I'm sorry that you haven't been able to get through to the HC tonight. Do you think calling another service (Suicide Callback etc) might help?

Re: rough time

@outlander
I want you to consider refusing to be weighed for a while and for them to respect that ,if you want to discuss nutrition etc that's fine, but I don't see the point in the anxiety of living by numbers .This is after a long battle and trauma of being a obese child who used to hate the scales in the classroom, to getting on "train scales" at Jenny Craig at the age of 13, at 19 st, to losing 8 st.around 30.
Its how you feel,I eat for stress, sh,comfort,cortisol is a huge problem as discussed here.
I have had doctors especially one little Asian thing 6 stone nothing intimidating me to get me on scales.
Don't put yourself through it again until you feel OK.I have scales but know I can't get on them because it will only make me feel worse.
Its something with your meds you can't control,why put yourself through it.

Re: rough time

@outlander - @Former-Member has a good point. I know the weight gain is difficult, but you have time later to sort this out. And perhaps you do need scale back on how much you are taking on board until you're more stable. I too want to study, but I know it's too much right now. Same as working. I was absolutely devastated, but I've now accepted for now it's an added stress I don't need.

I understand you had issues with the mh team, however, if you go back to them and explain that you're struggling to feel connected to them, and you felt unsupported and unheard and want to try again, you just might get somebody you get along with. Many times I've had to be my own advocate and fight for what I need. That didn't mean I always got what I wanted or needed, and it didn't always go my way or made me happy, but at least I asserted my feelings and emotions.

Re: rough time

Thank you @Former-Member my next weigh in is suppose to be in 4-6 weeks so will see how i go then. I like to see progress and i know numbers arent everything but i really want to drop quite a lot of kgs but id be happy with a few kgs here and there to keep my hopes up atm it feels like my healthy eating and exercise ia being rewarded with further weight gain. At this point i may as well eat whatever the heck i want cause the weight is being put on anyway. Stress abd these meds are really making my life hard

Thank you @Former-Member much appreciated

Re: rough time

I dont know where to pull back from though....
@Sans911
I hate calling the team. I feel like im wasting there resources when people are worsr off then what i am. I wish this psych would get back to me with an appt time and date. I dont want to contact another unless i cant get in to see another one. What would you day is a reasonable time frame for them to get back to me? I tried twice over three days so far with no response.
