Re: rough time

thank you for being here @Maggie 💜

I guess I can only do the same, adjust as time and changes happen too. a place to start will be getting supports for pop and once hes settled into those things I could maybe take up something else. maybe atm even with the freedom I have I don't really find anything to do cause I never really know how pop is or how my sleep/pain will be either.
I really want to study again but I think ill have to wait till next yr when im more financially stable and can get most of the other stuff out of the way.
its scary to think the surgeon may say another surgery will be the best option in which case its a minimum of 8-12 weeks of rest and minimal stuff.

Change is hard @outlander . Many/most humans like familiar surroundings and routines.

More surgery would be difficult, but if it’s needed, then has to be done. I hope it doesn’t come to that for you though, and this heals.

Study is a good thing to be looking at. I know you’ve done well with other study you’ve done before. It always comes down to finances though. Sad fact of life.

I have to head out for a bit @outlander Kind of friend is picking me up to walk the dogs. 🐶🐶🐶

I hope your afternoon goes okish. Take care, 💜💜💜💜

Re: rough time

Dear @outlander ... really hope your pain has subsided to a tolerable level. Really does seem unfair with this procedure resulting in this degree of pain for so long. Hopefully its all worthwhile in the end, with it having the desired health benefits. Putting up with pain to fix pain, somehow doesnt seem right. Lets hope this is temporary, and everything settles down.

As for the nerve issues from your teeth surgery ... I can understand your thoughts on that, both mentally and physically. Being unable to eat, smile or talk properly is a pretty major thing, and its understandable that your MH is suffering as a result. Definitely need to sort that out, and if it means further surgery, then so be it.

Glad that you finally have some help happening for your Pop. Good move, and I hope the upcoming apt goes well. Be very open and honest about all that you do for him, and everything that he is not able to manage or cope with himself. The more they know, the more they are able to offer targeted help.

Hi too to @Molliex @eth @Maggie @Snowie

Re: rough time

hi @Former-Member
the cramping has eased thankfully and its improved abit since Friday (its not a constant intense pain more just an ache with bouts of very intense pain) so im thinking itll be ok once my body accepts it. the other side effect is abit annoying but its not painful but now its my jaw and teeth are acting up. probably because I had something abit different to pureed foods which was scrambled eggs. could get through any more then a few small mouthfuls before it started to hurt to much. the gums where the stitches were are still really sensitive so hoping itll ease up soon.

I see the oral surgeon in a little over 2 weeks so we will go from there as to what happens next. ive done a lot of research today from reputable sources saying that the nerve that is damaged often required surgery. apparently this sort only happens in 5-10% of people who have this happen to them but its classes as a serious one. while looking at those sources it made my symptoms make sense even the ones i thought were just a recovery sort of thing. the speech impairment was pretty embarrassing yesterday and day before speaking to some others as I couldn't pronounce some easy words and they sounded opposite ie I had to say Sam for something but they kept thinking it was stan and ended up having to spell it out after trying to say it 4 times 😞 ) so yeah not only is my smile affected its now my speech so being around people or having to even talk on the phone is causing me more anxiety. I would like it fixed even if it means surgery its just not an ideal option but I don't want to live like this forever.

yeah im hoping this appointment will be really helpful. my pop wont be there, the support worker actually said not to bring him before I even said anything. it seems quite daunting that its going to be so long and detailed but its better then tip toeing around and waiting for other supports.
