Re: rough time

No not impossible Hon - who would have thought I would go back to work @outlander

Baby steps as you said and maybe getting a more focussed plan with your supports to help you do all that. Start small so you are not overwhelmed and work up from there

Re: rough time

@outlander Maybe begin with printing out all you have said here to work through with your supports - there have been some big things you have discussed here today - in effect you have found your voice in a positive way in a lot of areas - might be worth a further discussion starting point with your psych/pdoc.

Thank you @Zoe7
I believed in you and that work would be possible again for you one day. your doing an amazing job and I don't think the kids your teaching now will ever forget you

I wont print it out as no one knows im here. that would probably start world war 3 but I will take out the key parts and write them down for when I see them. I wont see the psych till next year now but I think theres a lot happening atm that the time will go quickly but can use helplines if I feel the need to in the meantime.

Re: rough time

It is a long time to wait @Zoe7 but between now and then itll be the OP, a few more invasive tests for womens health things and pop has many specialist appointments including one with a geriatrition only about a month away. that may be of more help in getting help at home and also better management of ongoing or progressing ailments. I think they'll want more tests but I think itll be more positive in the long run of things. I also think they can arrange short respite if it comes down to it whether that be away from home or have another carer come in while im away. and then the school holidays in dec/Jan with Christmas so I think itll go pretty quickly. I kind of wish I didn't run out of those sessions so close to Christmas though as those holidays are really tough for me to try and get through. I will still have the pdoc, my gp and my nurse though so I wont be without supports all together.
im still not to sure about this new pdoc but as long as theres no more sex ed talks and he stops laughing at my situation ill probably be ok even if its just to concentrate on the medication side of things at this point in time.

Re: rough time

I pretty much just see my pdoc now for check ins and med reviews @outlander but I also know she is there if I need - thought about contacting her this week but held off to try and get through myself first - work was good for that.

I know this sounds mobid but have you thought about what a life without your Pop would look like? I only ask that because will his health issues there maybe a time that you cannot look after him. It is a hard one to think about but putting in place some help for you and him now could also ease the pressure on your substantially.

Re: rough time

I tend to do the same as you @Zoe7 I only really see pdocs for meds anyway. I am kind of glad that I got a second opinion though. my other pdoc wasn't helpful at all and told me there wasn't any meds left to try but this new one has told me another option and also has said the one im on now can go quite abit higher then what the other pdoc said it could go.
Your pdoc seems to be a pretty good support if you need to talk outside of med reviews though? you've been with her or a long while now?

I have had thoughts on and off if the time came for him to need further care such as a nursing home. It is one of the reasons I study when I feel I can, usually its smaller courses so I can get a feel for them and see if I like them or if it would be something I might like to persue. I would like the health industry so am working towards that but unsure of what area-I already know I wont be doing aged or disability care id like to move away from that. I do know I would have to move out of the house we are in now as its a 3 bedroom and also its set up for those with disabilities such as ramps, and shower fixtures etc.
I haven't really gotten much further then that though.
