The best approach I found was to adopt only one main (fight circuit breaker) strategy but apply it repeatedly. That way it was easier for me to remember what to do when under duress and easier for them to see consequences and start to put 2 and 2 together about their own behaviours. There can always be a new and different excuse that can confuse things. Keep things as simple as possible to gradually clear up the mess.

I had a terrible situation with my 2 young girls of a simillar age. REALLY the best approach is when another adult is working with you to manage the behaviour. SO if that is not happening then the other adults are dropping the ball, no matter how hard they are working at some other super important job.
It is sad and not necessary, but unfortunately it happens far too much. People can get along, Animals can get along.
It is why I do not like cute things as I found it very uncute, where the dad found it cute. The girls are still at odds and rarely speak. It breaks my heart.
2 days ago a young neighbour gave me her baby and I loved resting and cuddling with him. That helped.
