Re: rough time

Good morning lovelies..... @Sans911 @Former-Member @outlander @Former-Member @MDT .....

I can relate so much to this conversation, even though I am not the one with the mi in our household .... @outlander @Former-Member, as a carer you are just as exposed to the hormonal tides as someone managing mi issues, an so for both of you it is a double-whammy. You are managing both carer roles and your own mi challenges as well .... which makes you a self-carer as well.

As a carer I have experienced anxiety attacks as a result of the hormonal cocktail that @Sans911 mentioned, and it is a warning sign that, as strong as you may appear mentally and emotionally, your physical body can begin to react instead .... which in turn rolls back into being mentally and emotionally unwell. It becomes a vicious cycle.

As a carer, this question has to be asked..... “Who is caring for the carer ?” ..... this is so you don’t end up with the carer becoming a patient too, with nobody to look after the both of them. As a carer and a self-carer, you need to follow the “rules” for carers as well as the “rules” for patients ..... and that is to respect your body’s needs for hydration, rest, de-stress activities, medications if they are prescribed, nutrition, psychological support (especially if recommended by medical staff), and time-out in whatever form that takes.

I can hear everybody supporting each other so well in terms of these warnings, and it’s a lovely aspect of the forums, but that hormonal cocktail is a reality and must be respected.

Congratulations on getting your job back @outlander .... it speaks volumes, but please monitor yourself as others have suggested ....

So sorry to hear that yesterday was so not-great @Former-Member ..... what self-care activity can you take yourself off to today ? Or will it be enough to have the house to yourself despite the crummy circumstances ?

Hugs @Sans911 @Former-Member ..... 👋 @MDT (unless you need a hug too .... ❣️)

Yes my stress hormones aren't good eat for no reason then my anxiety I bring it back up.
My mother wanted to do floral arrangements for nieces wedding,We argued the other day as I know she isn't up to it and my argument was you can go and buy boxed posy bowls for 15 dollars each from Coles...not worth the trouble.Plus I can see my mother is barely able to get ready for the event. She put pressure on me to do them....I said no can't being myself to do it .My nieces under minded me when my mother was in hospital two years ago,no respect, would never do that to my aunties.Know it isn't appreciated.I can't mentally do it and the fact that my mother puts me in that position shows to me she thinks its "OK" for me to be treated like a dog. Last night she made out I was a nutcase....think I'd be a bigger nutcase to do those flowers! Lol or cry.

Re: rough time

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope, she just came back in the door trying again, just put a colour in my hair so couldn't go outside.Dont know ,my mother when it comes to me,has no consideration for how I may be feeling.Hope when I'm dead one day and look back they realise you can't treat people like that...but I doubt it.

I have nothing left, even when you are "ok",my depression is there.I can't afford to let myself be treated like that as I know I'm trying to keep alive, what for sometimes I question. Thanks, hope your day is ok.

Re: rough time

Hi @Former-Member,

Sounds like you are getting some good support over here, your post just now though made me a ltitle worried about you so I have sent you an email.

It can be so hard that even when you are 'ok' you aren't fully ok. I hope by reaching out like you are now and knowing that you are valued here helps though.

Re: rough time

You sure are valued here @Former-Member ..... and glad to hear you’re putting a colour in your hair ..... ❣️

Yeah .... some people are missing the sensitivity chip. Can’t do much about it other than keeping your shield up when they’re around, and giving your arms a rest when they’re not .....

You go girl ..... 💐💜💕

Re: rough time

Thanks @Former-Member and @Faith-and-Hope,logging off now as I am struggling with myself, I knew today would be tough paranoid about how I'm being talked about and what is being said about me even though I know they need to go and find a mirror.Washing the hair everyday in hot weather @Faith-and-Hope,washes out colour, I get greys around scalp, did it to make myself feel better.
