Twisted -self care
Every morning I drive east into the sun.
At traffic lights I put sunscreen on the backs of my hands.
This morning I realised that this is self care,
Very rare for me.
I need to do more of this....

Hope you are getting some few minutes at least to yourself @Catcakes - watch a sunset, listen to the birds, the wind in the trees, something really simple to ease your mind.
You are doing so many support things for others, sending you hugs and if I could a tree to sit under. ((((( @Catcakes )))))
My self care thing for today:
I got some earplugs today after a particularly awful visit to a Woolworths store (I forgot why I stopped going there). Oh my the noise - the loud music - simply hell. I saw a lady with head phones on and decided right, when I get back to the chemist I'm getting ear plugs so I don't have to put up with this nonsense again.
Did it, tried it a bit ago, and oh, for the first time ever, earplugs that cut out the noise - I had tears in my eyes at the silence!
I'm getting more so I have some at every station - by the bed for noisy mornings, in my handbag so I have them with me when I go out, at my work desk ...
Silicone things. brilliant. ![]()

Really pleased to hear you had a good sleep @Catcakes, good restful sleep is so darned important and all too often is hard to come by.
My earplugs worked a treat for me too, not woken by random outside noises so I'm impressed with them. The tinnitus came back, but if I use the tens device again today and it will go away for a time, so that's worth remembering to do.
Here's wishing us all a pleasant day today. ![]()

@Catcakes ohmy, feet pampered, how nice!
I cannot tolerate ear plugs usually either Catcakes, which is why none have ever worked for me.
These ones don't go into the ear canal, the silicone is soft and pliable (and has a nifty wee case for it) and you put it in the space over the ear canal and seal it around. It took a bit to get it to work, and a some does push a short way into the ear opening, but not much. The silicone is not offensive to me in any way. It's medical silicone so might be better than anything else. Otifleks medical silicone, 4 in a pack for $5 ever so nicely packaged too.
I admit, I am very pleasantly surprised. The other thing that is a total change for me is to be able to use a device to block out sound. Shows that I really do feel safe in this house. While I'm going to try to use them in public places next time I go out, that may not work due to hypervigilance and safety issues. We'll see, I'm hoping for being able to reduce the awful imposition of too much noise.
I hope you enjoy your foot pampering! Lucky you. ![]()

Afternoon @Catcakes your foot pampering must have been so nice! I had a nice night to myself watching Back to back episodes of Shetland 'til about 1am, went to bed, read Alias Grace for a bit, and with my earplugs, managed to sleep until a bit after 12noon!
The noise from the builders next door did not bother me at all, and now they have gone, so even better.
I hope you can find something soft and gently pleasing to do with yourself today @Catcakes, you deserve some restful moments.
waves to @Shaz51 @Faith-and-Hope @Appleblossom as they pass by.
