Twisted -self care
Every morning I drive east into the sun.
At traffic lights I put sunscreen on the backs of my hands.
This morning I realised that this is self care,
Very rare for me.
I need to do more of this....

Morning @Catcakes so glad you've rallied a bit and feel somewhat better! Comfort feelings are soo sooo important.
Do you have a snuggly blanket or shawl or something you can wrap yourself in, or a bit of soft fluffyness that you can put in a pocket and stroke even?
You'll probably laugh, but I'll tell my little secret anyway .... When I made my white snuggly blanket, there was a bit that I had to cut off the side cos it was cut crooked. I couldn't toss it out, soo soft, sooo snuggly, sosooo cuddly how could i possibly throw that soft goodness in the bin!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I made it into 2 rectangles big enough to fit over my hands, just seaming 3 sides. I have been known to put one in my handbag for stressful medical trips and also, I use it one or both calm myself at night to sleep. The softness helps the pain in my hands too.
Maybe you have something like that ....
Hello to everyone @CheerBear @Faith-and-Hope @Smc @Appleblossom it's lovely to read your posts and discover how you each spend your days doing different things. (In a non-creepy way of course.![]()
)
I trust your day will have pleasant moments for you.

Hi @Catcakes Self care is still important while you care for your mother.
My day has been good. Drove son around and had a home visit from Neami worker. My son was enthusiastic about going out. It was beautiful and a relief to see, as he had not had that kind of positive spontaneity for a long time.
Thats a bit of positive contagion for me ...

It is MH organisation active in west suburbs, which has a voluntary and collaborative model, uses peer wrokers and i have been impressed by them .. but maybe this is advertising .. google them ...NEAMI ..worth a look.
Years ago @PeppiPatty recommended them and I heartily agree. There is a waiting list but atm it is not long.

Hi @Catcakes .....
Do you want to talk some more ?
Just wanted to drop some hugs in here for you. That must be a real worry ..... is there a way to check, or is it too early to know for sure ?
