Twisted -self care
Every morning I drive east into the sun.
At traffic lights I put sunscreen on the backs of my hands.
This morning I realised that this is self care,
Very rare for me.
I need to do more of this....

@Catcakes My opinion, for what it might be worth, is that "NO" you do not need to let them come.
My home is my haven also, like you, only sometimes can I relax and feel safe, perhaps for different reasons, but the feeling is still the same. I don't let deliverers into my home and no one is allowed in (there are exceptions for necessaries and they make me squirm)
My new home is in a bit of a hidey place and for the first few weeks I did not put up the 'do not knock' sign because I didn't think they'd bother with walking the distance to my door.
Not so, the bloodsucking religious doorknockers, the desperate-for-a-sale hawkers, all found my door and knocked on it at the most inopportune times (like any time is a good time anyway, but they always seemed to find the worst time).
do not knock sign this is the sign I copied, changed the wording to express what I wanted more clearly, made larger, laminated and have on my door. It saved me from multiple issues at the other house and now does here too. had to add another sign so that those delivering goods I'd ordered knew to knock, but it's all fine now.
Also, Mormons and JW's keep a sort of 'do not call' register of their own and are bound by law to abide by your request not to call at your address.
Call the Mormon temple in your area (will be a city) ask to speak to the person in charge of missionaries and they will be gracious and put you on their list.
For JW's find the listing in your phone book and track them down, sometimes there's no clearly defined place or person. They will probably want you to call them when you move house so they can get that house back on their register. Do not give them a name (although they will want it), ONLY the address.
We/ You have rights, I advocate using all at our disposal to reduce the stress others cause us. ![]()

Oh, my, how brave you are @Catcakes, but then, we do what must be done when we have to, don't we.
Not good today, big sads, not sure how to deal. Got things to distract, but behind schedule with a task that needs attending to (external contact) and that makes me anxious and testy to say the least.
I hope your day is proving fruitful.
