Twisted -self care
Every morning I drive east into the sun.
At traffic lights I put sunscreen on the backs of my hands.
This morning I realised that this is self care,
Very rare for me.
I need to do more of this....

Lately I have been spending lots of time in my small back yard, it’s really a concrete courtyard with a small bed in the corner and a pretty good sized nectarine tree.
A favourite grounding exercise of mine is sweeping the yard. I swap sides back and forth, it activates left brain, right brain and when I’m finished I sit for a moment and admire the tidiness .....🌿

How delightful to have a nectarine tree in your yard @Catcakes
I love your tidy the yard method. I love a clean and tidy yard almost as much as I love the inside of the house being clean and tidy and neat looking. 
Heh, I'll sometimes clean one room and go back to admire it for the energy to keep on doing another room.
silly hey. but often effective.

Out in the ‘burbs where I grew up, I shop for mum’s groceries then passl time at a cafe while she’s at the hairdressers.<br>I look into the faces and see older versions of people I might have known once. From a time I loitered these shops in a school dress.<br>I walk past the now Asian owned cake shop that gives me my nickname.<br>Past the newsagent/gift shop where picked up a weekly copy of 3XY’s top 40 radio hits.<br>Back when there were no ATM’s, lattes or mobile phones.once I rode confidently along these streets, met with teenage boys, ate 10cents worth of hot chips with salt and vinegar on cold afternoons., went on train adventures to other suburbs nearby. Walk to softball/netball practise, walk home, <br>Now I sip my latte and look for connection with an on line community.
