Twisted -self care

Twisted -self care

Every morning I drive east into the sun.
At traffic lights I put sunscreen on the backs of my hands.
This morning I realised that this is self care,
Very rare for me.
I need to do more of this....

Re: Twisted -self care

Sorry you’re feeling crappy today @Catcakes.

My D3 has just headed back to uni for afternoon classes - mr. walking with her, S2 has just returned home from classes, and I have taken D2 and gone out. D2 has spent a lot of time in the house this week while we have run around after the other two, and put the house into working order ..... time to do something for her.

No, not had enough of you at all @Bubbles3. I am glad you are having a better day today.

Hi @Bubbles3,@Shaz51,@Faith-and-Hope.
It’s not that anything has “happened”, it’s just me. I going along ok for a while then I fall in a hole. I’m struggling with health issues ( mine, my partner’s), I’m struggling with therapy, I get down looking after my Mum and I just can’t stand my own company often.
Great that your uni kids can walk to campus,
Is Mr F&H scared of melb?

Re: Twisted -self care

Like = I hear you @Catcakes ......

Mr.f&h has major control and security-concern issues as a part of the very complex things that are going on with him at the moment. They have even moderated, and yet as they are they are still quite strong but perhaps less bizarre compared to recent years.

It’s great that the kids can walk to uni. Their physical health has suffered along with their mental and emotional well-being as a result of our circumstances, so this should help them recover their fitness, and the exercise is excellent for mental health recovery too.

Re: Twisted -self care

S2 has put his foot down about walking to and from class on his own 🎉.

Without the mh team having called for his independence, mr. would be arguing this with him. The mh team have become guardians of sorts, not only over S2 who is their client, but it is helping to get the rest of us past the uber-control issues as well.

That’s good news about S2 @Faith-and-Hope👍🏼

Re: Twisted -self care

Yeah @Catcakes .... S2 was gaining normal independence a couple of years ago, but this strained / strange circumstance with mr. triggered what appears to be familial mh problems in S2 ..... but the pdoc says he is on the mend and should continue to recover. He has done CBT and some DBT so understands the mh implications for the personality traits involved. That is going to be important for all of our kids going forward.

Re: Twisted -self care

I have spent the past hour indulging in some self-care..... pedicure and foot massage. Must remember not to choose nail colour in dim lighting 😳
