@Appleblossom several years back I spent 2 weeks in a mental health facility [Moderator edit].
I had serotonin syndrome and was in and out of consciousness for a few days but one time when I was awake I saw my mum sitting beside my bed and crying. The last time I'd seen her cry was when I was about 15 so it was a wake up call for me. And one of the nurses asking me how I thought mum would feel had I been successful really made me sit up and realise that I really couldn't do it again while she was still alive.
After she's gone though, some days I don't know.
After I became born again I was of the expectation that life was going to be amazing, that through Christ I could do anything. And for the first few months it was true. I felt renewed, I spent every Tuesday night with my church worship team working the sound desk, Wednesdays I'd be there for the kids after school club and Sunday of course I'd be there for the service and manning the sound desk.
After a couple of years my pastor retired and his daughter started up a new church elsewhere that was mainly Filipino and I didn't feel welcome there. I then started going to another church near to where I lived with ex friend and it never felt right. I loved the pastor but the music team just wasn't what I was used to (they were terrible!) and I was never welcomed like I had been at my previous church.
Most days I pray God will forgive me for not going to church or doing regular Bible study. I pray throughout the day but there really isn't much to keep me going anymore. I have no kids, only 1 friend and no job.
Going home doesn't seem such a bad option, if the Lord would welcome me!
Sorry this is a bit dark, having had a conversation with my sister today brought about the reality that my dad truly is gone and his Satan in a skirt wife who pre deceased him by 12 months screwed him over so badly financially that my siblings and I have lost several hundred thousand dollars in inheritance. I know it's not about the money but I could have had my house repaired and actually been able to get my teeth done, and had a few other medical things taken care of.
Most days I am clinging on to the hem of Jesus' robe, knowing I am loved but sometimes not understanding what that really means.
