Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp I hope I have understood your post correctly, let me know if I haven't!

You may have a spirit of rejection. I know I did and thanks to God I don't have that spirit within me anymore.

Rejection was a deep, deep feeling in me, causing me to do some seriously unsafe and un-Christian things.

It can be generational, caused by rejection of important people at an early age (in my case my father) or a lack of identity.

I was blessed and the spirit of rejection left me fairly quickly after I'd rebuked and prayed but that was my case. It was after many many years of living with this spirit and then having it revealed to me that I had this spirit leave in Jesus' name.
I will pray for the spirit to leave you as well.

Here is a list of tools to help overcome the spirit of rejection -

  • Renounce and Rebuke: Actively renounce the spirit in the name of Jesus and command it to leave.
  • Renew the Mind: Counteract lies of unworthiness with biblical truth about being loved, accepted, and chosen.
  • Forgiveness: Release unforgiveness toward those who caused the wounding, such as parents or peers.
  • Embrace Identity in Christ: Secure one's identity in God’s love to eliminate the need for people-pleasing.
  • Seek Deliverance: For long-term freedom, addressing the root causes through spiritual counsel and prayer is recommended.

Re: Christian Chat

Neil Diamond was great! I love his music too. My music years are much the same as yours @ENKELI I've never been into hard rock though. I used to sing Barbra Streisand songs in the shower as a teenager. 😀 I wanted to become a singer but was too frightened to sing in front of anyone.

I also wanted to be an actress. I think I've done it well throughout my life with the many masks I've worn. Shame I didn't get paid for it! 😉

I only have a couple of feet outside my place with a seat and a small table. I do have a cuppa out there occasionally but would prefer to go out for a coffee. 💜

Hi @heartathome , @DownMoreThanUp , @Appleblossom , @ENKELI , @tyme , @MissGremlin , @REDLINEZ750 ,

Acts 13 (long chapter today)

- Church at Antioch had five prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon (Niger), Lucius, Manaen, Saul.

- They were worshipping the Lord and fasting.

- Holy Spirit told them to set apart Barnabas and Saul.

- After they fasted, prayed and laid hands on them, they sent them off.

- Barnabas and Paul go to Cyprus.

- Travelled the whole island proclaiming the Word in the Jewish synagogues.

- John Mark is their helper.

- Governor of Cyprus believes when his assistant is struck blind at the word of Saul (Paul).

- John Mark leaves them and returns to Jerusalem.

- Paul and Barnabas arrive at Antioch in Pisidia.

- Go to the synagogue on the Sabbath.

- Paul talks to the gathering:

  • Fellow Israelites!
  • God made our ancestors prosper.
  • Led them out of Egypt with a mighty arm.
  • In the wilderness for 40 years.
  • Destroyed seven nations in Canaan.
  • Gave them the land.
  • All this took about 450 years.
  • Judges until Samuel.
  • King Saul after they asked for a king.
  • King David - a man after God's own heart, who will carry out God's Will.
  • From David's decendants, God brought Jesus, the Saviour.
  • John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus.
  • Residents of Jerusalem fulfilled the prophets' words - crucified Jesus.
  • Put Jesus in a tomb.
  • God raised Jesus from the dead.
  • Jesus appeared to people who came up with Him from Galilee for many days.
  • These people now witnesses to the people.
  • Mentions fulfilled scriptures including "You will not let Your Holy One see decay."
  • David was buried and decayed.
  • Therefore, forgiveness through Jesus.
  • Be careful not to scoff at this.

- Paul and Barnabas invited back the following Sabbath.

- Many Jews followed Paul and Barnabas.

- Following Sabbath - almost the whole town assemble.

- Jews jealous. Contradict Paul.

- Paul and Barnabas: Necessary for us to go to the Jews first. But since you reject our message we now go to the Gentiles.

- Gentiles rejoiced at this.

- Word of the Lord spread through whole region.

- Jews incite persecution and Paul and Barnabas are expelled from the district.

- Paul and Barnabas shake dust off their feet.

- Paul and Barnabas go to Iconium.

- Disciples filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.

In this chapter there is a shift in leadership from Barnabas to Paul. In Paul's speech I think we have a sample of what he was saying to the Jews in their synagogues each Sabbath.

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @DownMoreThanUp ,

I'm a bit slow but I googled rejection mindset.

Here's the definition:

A rejection mindset is a way of thinking, perceiving and living that is based on lies. It unleashes a sense of separation from love. It will distort what love looks like. Meanwhile, your relationship interactions will get tainted with rejection's toxic poison.

Theere appears to be books on the rejection mindset.

Something that jumped out as I quickly skimmed the questions and answers was the question how do mentally strong people deal with rejection.

Rather than simply tolerate the pain, they turn it into an opportunity for self-growth.

DownMoreThanUp you already do that!

This is the first I have heard of rejection mindset. I'm sure I've just copied what you already know. But I wanted to reply.

Re: Christian Chat

@Realness i love you heaps sharing that.

@heartathome @ENKELI @tyme @Appleblossom

After i asked i sought out the favorite psychological influence in my wife's life and listen to what he had to say about that. Taught me the same you are saying from a purely spiritual perspective.

i did not realise how it was my underlying issue, although i did know it was a issue, but rejected it as important as i do myself all the time. BIG TEARS NOW.

@Shaz51 @MissGremlin @AlwaysMyself

i TRIGGERED MY WIFE TO LEAVE ME! And we both love each other enough to know there is no other option. She triggers me hiding from me my love and goodwill, and i trigger her running again from me the one not leaving her alone harming her out of my mind, even though it is not true any longer AND YET IT IS for both of us!

.

Until i learn to understand my passion to heal the past that is broken in me and us all which keeps breaking us more.

And my dear wife dares to believe i mean no harm, but in my past evil alter hate the evil who has hold on them, becasue i was out of control, to sick to stop the wicked tormenting me harming them the harm those wicked ones had already for years been harming me with a schizoprnic able to see them since birth. It is so f... cruel!!!

The sad story of my life at the moment.

(Our strength is Jesus though. For we both love Him and know He has a Way to fix what WE CANNOT although we both tried HARDEST.)

No other words(😭)

Yes we are doing counseling, both us, we love to be able to be together without this happening.

(almost forgot)

Hi @DownMoreThanUp ,

Thank you for replying.

Sometimes I have difficulty understanding your writing - what is present and what is past.

"I triggered my wife to leave me" - can you please let me know if that's the case. Or was it in the past and has been resolved. Just so we can pray the right thing.

Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp sending you safe hugs and prayers (if you want them) - support button not working.

I am really glad to read that you have reengaged your counsellor and are trying to work on things with your wife also.

You have such a great attitute i think with your recognition of how your mental state has impacted things and how things compound with both of you being triggered. I know it doesnt take the hurt away, but it is the first necessary step to then be able to work on things and repair damage and overcome and grow.

I really like what @Realness said about taking "rejection" to learn to grow from mistakes or to reflect onthings to read things clearer next time, etc etc. And sometimes i think it can also be an ability to evaluate whether the "rejection" is actually rejection or just a difference in preference or unavailability, etc -- not something personal.

Re: Christian Chat

@Realness @heartathome @ENKELI @tyme @Appleblossom

No we are apart.

As of last week Wednesday morning. i tried telling her in my past angry alter that i realised the only way to get them back was to let them accuse me and not let it hurt me any longer, no matter how much the devil laughs me in the facem as it has for all these years. For i know i love them underneath their anger and hurt. My wife was triggered me doing this. Just out of bed. We been going since Saturday, it was her day off she needed a break so she snapped at me to stop accusing her like that, for me explaining what i had decided to do had sounded like an accusation in her ears.

The devil laughing his head of................and i raged my hate at them.............and my poor wife thought it was her i wad angry at again...........even though she intellectual knows i'm triggered, and what my issue is at those times, because she is also triggered, totally defeated and upset i f.. again, so she runs away with our hurt unresolved and the devil having a field day.

i do not know how long it took before i stopped seeking the hate to end it all but only Jesus love surrounded me, as well as my wife. We are discussing all this together from afar. We love it both to work. We both hate how it goes. We are victims of our past and my illness. (Anti-psychotis do NOT stop me from seeing these spirits but does stop me from feeling my emotions and worse my love in my heart is very much harder to reach and i'm too tired to defend myself the evil voices going 24/7 since i was 11 years old, maybe even before that.
