Christian Chat

Hi my friends, this is Bella here, I thought how nice & lovely to have a Thread for Christians. I am not talking about Religion, GOD is Love, GOD gives free will to us all in the world. I have a relationship with GOD through HIS Word-The Bible, most of my life. I became a Pentecostal Christian many years ago. Would you like to come join me here in this Thread?

I am excited about starting it, you can just sit relax, chat about your love, for GOD & JESUS. Or post encouragement for others. Support, or be supported with Prayer. Hey, would you like to, Praise & post links to Praise & Worship music? Stories, or experiences, poetry, fun things to help us have a giggle, lovely pictures, photos, there are so many things you can post & chat about that will Bless & Build us up in The LORD! Life is about giving, loving, healing flows from a loving heart, whom purely wants to- just give!

I hope & pray, you will receive, Peace, Love, & JOY!... & healing in your heart! Amen xo <>< Bella 🙂

Acts 4

Continuing on from Acts 3 - Peter and John are in the Temple after healing a lame man and Peter has just talked to the crowd at the Temple.

- Peter and John arrested by the chief Jews.

- But many believed. Now about 5,000 believers.

- Next day. High priests to Peter and John: "By what power or in what name have you done this?"

- Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, says to the Sanhedrin:

  • We healed the man by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth
  • Whom you crucified and God raised
  • The cornerstone that you rejected
  • "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved."

- The Sanhedrin amazed by Peter's and John's boldness; they were uneducated and untrained men. The Sanhedrin recognise that Peter and John had been with Jesus.

- Because the healed man was still standing with them, and the people were amazed, the Sanhedrin can't charge Peter and John like they want to.

- Sanhedrin meet privately to decide what to do.

- Sanhedrin tell Peter and John not to speak in Jesus' name.

- Peter and John reply: Do you think God wants us to obey you or to obey Him? We can't keep quiet about what we've seen and heard.

- Sanhedrin threaten them again and then release them.

- Peter and John return to the rest of the Lord's followers. They pray: " .... And now, Lord, consider their threats and grant that your servants may speak your word with all boldness, while You stretch out Your hand to heal ... through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus."

- When they had prayed, the place where they were meeting shakes. All are filled with the Holy Spirit.

- Common ownership among the believers. No possessions. No needy persons.

- Barnabas sells land and gives the money to the apostles.

Peter and John can't keep quiet about what they've seen and heard. The power of what they can do in the name of Jesus.

Hey @Realness , do you read a portion each time and then write down your takeaways? Or is what you are sharing from another source? I really enjoy reading them each day when I log on.

Re: Christian Chat

@AlwaysMyself thanks lovely. I get frustrated because I feel it's like the saying - the squeakiest gate gets the most attention.

I am mindful of what I am saying now and while others can speak their mind I feel I am being censored.
There is so much an online forum like this can offer but it also can become closed and exclusive. I have had this same conversation with others and they agree with me.

But so I don't get paused I will bite my tongue and play nice. I have learned that while certain things annoy me I am not to say so.

I hope you're having a decent evening, here's hoping Friday and the weekend are kind to us all xoxo

Re: Christian Chat

Support button isn't working, so sending hugs manually @ENKELI . I like that you are still able to be pragmatic about holding your tongue when you know you must, so that you can still have community and connection here despite the other frustrations.

Hoping Friday is good for you also. 🙂
I really should be going to sleep soon - oops. it's past 11pm for me. I am not a night owl!

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @tyme ,

Thanks for your interest and encouragement. I'm really glad you enjoy them.

They are now part of my [almost] daily Bible reading. For years I have worked on a big document with lots of translations of each book of the New Testament. At the moment I am working on what I hope is the last two translations so I transcribe the chapter in both of those versions. After I have done this I then open my existing big document with lots of translations and revisit the chapter. From the different versions I come up with the daily summary. The source is the Bible but the wording is a mixture of the translations.

This may be a bit too detailed - hope it makes sense.

Hi@heartathome , @DownMoreThanUp , @Appleblossom , @ENKELI , @tyme , @AlwaysMyself , @MissGremlin , @REDLINEZ750 ,

Acts 5

- Ananias and Sapphira. They sell a piece of property but then lie about how much they got for it, pretending to give the whole amount to the apostles. Peter confronts them for trying to deceive the Holy Spirit. God strikes them.

- Fear through the church that God would do this.

- Many signs and wonders through the apostles.

- Peter's shadow could heal people.

- High priest furious.

- The apostles are arrested.

- An angel lets them out of prison and tells them to teach in the Temple.

- Sanhedrin are looking for them but then hear that the apostles are teaching in the Temple.

- Sanhedrin: We told you not to teach in this name.

- Peter and the apostles: We must obey God rather than people.

- The Sanhedrin want the death penalty for the apostles.

- A Pharisee, Gamaliel, talks them out of it.

- The apostles are flogged and ordered not to speak in the name of Jesus.

- Apostles rejoicing that they were considered worthy to suffer shame for Jesus.

- Apostles continue teaching Jesus is the Messiah in the Temple and in homes.

Re: Christian Chat

I love the way you stay with God through your issues @DownMoreThanUp I tend to react like a hurt dog and will run away to heal. God knows how I work and still guides me through it. I'm replying to your post from the music thread here because I didn't want to get in trouble for posting 'God stuff' on there. I'm proud of you! 💜
