Christian Chat

Hi my friends, this is Bella here, I thought how nice & lovely to have a Thread for Christians. I am not talking about Religion, GOD is Love, GOD gives free will to us all in the world. I have a relationship with GOD through HIS Word-The Bible, most of my life. I became a Pentecostal Christian many years ago. Would you like to come join me here in this Thread?

I am excited about starting it, you can just sit relax, chat about your love, for GOD & JESUS. Or post encouragement for others. Support, or be supported with Prayer. Hey, would you like to, Praise & post links to Praise & Worship music? Stories, or experiences, poetry, fun things to help us have a giggle, lovely pictures, photos, there are so many things you can post & chat about that will Bless & Build us up in The LORD! Life is about giving, loving, healing flows from a loving heart, whom purely wants to- just give!

I hope & pray, you will receive, Peace, Love, & JOY!... & healing in your heart! Amen xo <>< Bella 🙂

Re: Christian Chat

That's tough only getting a couple of weeks' notice from your old GP! I hope you can sort your new GP out soon @ENKELI

I'm going well. Staying mostly out of trouble. 😁

I saw my partner yesterday for his 73rd birthday with my son and his family. We had a picnic by the ocean, and it was a beautiful sunny day!

Today has dropped 6 degrees from yesterday and is windy and raining. Good indoors day 💜

Re: Christian Chat

@Appleblossom she pretty much told me that she wasn't taking on new patients so I would be booked with another GP. The first one I saw on Friday was really nice but he wasn't able to write my prescriptions out as he is new to WA.

I went to the doctor a couple of times a year for blood tests and general check ups. My prescriptions I used to get my GP to write out after hours and I would collect them the next day.

I'm of 2 minds as to whether to stay on at this new practice, put myself on the wait list for my old practice and see the other GP there or find a third practice!

I'm sure if I give it to God the answer will come. I need to refer to Him more than I do.

Re: Christian Chat

@heartathome oh very nice, I love picnics.

I would love to have cooler weather. I think once my mum goes I might move down south. I hate Perth, it's full of undesirable people (except for @PeppyPatti and @Glisten of course!)

We have a cool change for the next 2 days and then it's back to 40 until Monday.

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELI Sorry to hear you are also going through such crappy feelings about someone who should be trustworthy and you ought to be able to trust to be on your side.

About your question why certain people become doctors, i have come to the morbid conclusion after being bitten many times over the years - that some doctors become doctors not because they care about ill/suffering people but because of reasons that are solely for their own benefit.

@heartathome @Appleblossom @Realness @AuntGlow @tyme

Sadly as a patient we become just a means to their end when doctors are in it just for themselves. As far as i'm concerned as mentally ill people we best sieve them out and stick to those who do care about us, for they are also around. i found online reviews to be really helpful finding trustworthy doctors.

Blessings.

Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp I completely agree with you! I wish my GP hadn't retired but that is very selfish of me. It would have been helpful to have been given more notice so I could have started checking out other services. A lot of places are not seeing new patients so I wonder how a person is supposed to see a GP!

I am leaving it with the Lord for now. I have what I need for now and will keep checking. As you say, online reviews are very helpful.

Hope you're doing okay today xo

Acts 2

- Day of Pentecost. All the believers gathered together in one place.

- Suddenly, a large sound from heaven - a violent rushing wind sound.

- They saw tongues like flames of fire that separated and rested on each one of them.

- All filled with the Holy Spirit they began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit enabled them.

- Jews from all different places in Jerusalem. A crowd gathers because of the noise. Each person could hear their own language. How are the Galileans speaking all these languages!?!

- Peter, standing with the Eleven, talks to them.

  • A prophecy from Joel is being fulfilled. The Spirit being poured out. "Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
  • Jesus of Nazareth, through miracles and wonders, through being nailed to a cross, through God raising Him up -
  • David speaks of Him - one who will not see decay -
  • God raised this Jesus -
  • "Therefore since He has been exalted to the right hand of God and has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit, He has poured out what you both see and hear."
  • This Jesus, whom you crucified, is the Messiah.

- The crowd, cut to the heart, respond: "What should we do?"

- Peter: "Repent and be baptised, each of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

- About 3,000 people added to their number.

- They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

- Signs being performed through the apostles.

- They had common property. Followers selling things and property to meet needs.

- Meeting in the Temple daily.

- And joyfully broke bread from house to house.

- Praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.

The gift of the Holy Spirit. The ability to speak languages a miracle to call people. A time of amazing fellowship.

Re: Christian Chat

@ENKELI i love you to find someone trust worthy again. Not to scare you but please remain careful it is a dangerous world out there.

@heartathome @Appleblossom @Realness @AuntGlow

i have had quiet a few good GP's in my life. One in particular was worth gold to us as a family. A true professional who prided in his integrity and overwhelming knowledge when it came to illness and medicine.

This GP surely saved my life twice. That was when my psychiatrist put me on a new psych drug, without letting him know, and it literally almost blew my heart to bits. When i came to him for (a related complain but seemingly completely different symptom than the problem really was.) For suddenly as the was taking my heart rate. He ran off to his desk and rang the hospital and booked me in right there and then. My heart rate was near 240 - i was in greatest danger taking what i was taking - and needed to be hospitalized immediately, talking about being taken by surprise.

That was when he saved my life the first time.

Yet then he did again, although more indirectly. For the hospital took me of the drug, and had me taken up in the intensive care unit for a few days.

However i greatly under estimated what my psychiatrist reaction about this was going to be.

Negative experience with a professional discussed.

Content/trigger warning

It was towards the end of my stay there that the psychiatrist who had put me on the drug came to visit me. And guess what? She was talking about only one thing, how the results had been so good, (and they had,) and she wanted to reintroduce the drug immediately, little by little, and see if i would take to it that way without issues. Desperate, and remembering the big improvement i had REALLY enjoyed, after just a few weeks on this new drug, i trusted her and agreed at the time.

However when my GP found out her plan he literally spat the dummy at me. And told me straight in my face to stop playing Russian roulette with my life, agreeing with such nonsense. For did i not have myself and my family to think of and there were other drugs to try.

At the time i still wanted to go my psychiatrist way, the meds had really made me feel better taking, but my wife (and kids) did not after what the GP had said. So i didn't. (i think i remember that as my GP he took me straight off them that night.)

Later readings on the drug i had been using, and getting to know my psychiatrist much better, made me see my GP was right all along.

For this psychiatrist, the first one i (mistakenly) dared to trust, hurt me the most in the end. What was worse she was from my Church, but in the end even gave my family the cold shoulder because of her dislike for me not doing as she wanted me to do.

Later in the process rudely dumping me when i refused to take (other) medications which were clearly physically harming me at the time. My legs were so swollen from the meds that they were hurting like hell from it, and i had to wear shorts and could not wear any kind of shoes for my feet were so swollen. Yet this is how she responded to me, and made me officially to be a patient who is non compliant. After doing that i knew for sure she was not a good doctor.

Sad but true story.

Hi @DownMoreThanUp ,

That's a powerful story. I'm thankful you had the good GP at the time.

Hi @ENKELI ,

Just a quick note that I hope you find a good GP in time.

Re: Christian Chat

@DownMoreThanUp my support button has gone AWOL, it decided it wanted to hang with the cool kids and stop working like everyone else's!

Yes, I have heard some pretty negative things about GPs. One misdiagnosed someone who was having a heart attack and they ended up in hospital, baring making it. My old GP from when I was a kid into my teens misdiagnosed my friends' brother with food poisoning when his appendix burst. Fortunately his parents had the sense to take him into hospital so he could have it removed.

Your psych sounds like my psychologist. She was from my church also and while I felt comfortable with her she didn't really help much. When I made a negative comment about my ex friend she too turned her back on me and suggested I see her professionally - at full price. I couldn't believe she actually suggested it! I told her she was the last person I would consider seeing given that my problems had to do with ex friend.

I am so glad your GP was so invested in you. My GP was the same. Twice I was put on medication for my depression/bipolar by another GP when I couldn't see mine and I became anaphylactic on the first med, ending up in the ED. The second time was a medication that made me even more depressed and my GP just shook his head. Without being critical to his colleague he said he wasn't sure why I had been put on the meds.

We certainly have to be careful with who we choose don't we. I'm praying that God will give me guidance.

I am pretty upset at the moment, my sister is trying to prevent me from getting some of my dad's ashes, probably because she can't be bothered posting them over. I am angry that she has not been forthcoming with a lot of things regarding my dad and his wishes and I need to try and calm myself down. I am going to spend some time in worship as I know that it's the best thing for calming me down. I'm also going to take an anti anxiety tablet as well.

God bless you my brother, and much love. I hope you are doing better today and that it remains cool in your part of the state xo
