Re: Christian Chat

Aww. Thank you @Realness Right back at you! 🤗

I was still up at twelve. I've been staying awake through my night sleeper lately and needing to take more meds to sleep around twelve. Last night I didn't take any second meds and slept really well. I even woke at 7 instead of 5.30. I'm glad it's all over and we can start appreciating every day as special! 💛

So we do not give up. Our physical body is becoming older and weaker, but our spirit inside us is made new every day.

Hi @heartathome , @DownMoreThanUp , @Appleblossom , @ENKELI , @REDLINEZ750 ,

Luke 21

- Jesus is still teaching in the Temple

- Jesus praises the poor widow's gift over the gifts of the rich people - out of her poverty she has put in all that she had to live on.

- Some followers praise the Temple. But Jesus says the days are coming when not one stone will be left on another. The followers ask, "When?" Jesus says, "Watch out there will be deceivers ... wars ... earthquakes ... famines ... plagues ... But before all this you will be persecuted for My Name."

- They will bear witness of Jesus. Don't worry about what words to say. Jesus will give them words and wisdom that none of their adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

- They will be betrayed by family and friends. Some of them will lose their lives. They will be hated by everyone because of Jesus' Name.

- But not a hair of their head will be lost.

- By your endurance gain your lives.

- When Jerusalem is surrounded by armies there will be great suffering - it will be a terrible time.

- They are told to look at a fig tree - like a fig tree getting its leaves so will these things be a sign that the kingdom of God is near.

- Be on your guard - so your minds aren't dulled by feasting, drunkenness or the worries of life - or that day will come on you unexpectedly.

- "But be alert at all times that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place and to stand before the Son of Man."

I think most of Jesus' teaching in this chapter is for His followers at that time. It was an intense time of reaction to Jesus! But we also need to endure, be on guard and be alert so I have used "you" language for those three.

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @heartathome ,

About a week ago I did a to-do-list which included "Story 2" - continuing the story of huge stress when I fell through the gaps. I'm not sure what it will achieve but I keep thinking about it so will continue on. I guess it's my equivalent of a poem.

You may recall I had fallen to pieces following a stressful work situation. This section will cover how the stress impacted my sleep and what the stress and lack of sleep looked like in a few of my actions.

From the day the work situation opened, I was sleep deprived for twenty-nine days. From eight hour sleeps I went to five hour sleeps and then three hours sleeps to no sleep from Day 15 to Day 29. On Day 30 eight hour sleeps returned.

What did it look like? What did being that stressed and losing that much sleep look like?

I was a ranting, racing person for two weeks. My mind was probably eight times the speed it normally was. When it came time to wash my dirty clothes I couldn't remember to return to the washing machine. I would return days later and the clothes stunk! (Luckily I washed my old, least favourite clothes first.) On Day 22 I went for a ridiculously long walk from the bush to the beach and back again. Fortunately this used up a lot of the adrenaline. (Not to mention my feet were so sore I was housebound!) I almost ran out of food. I had a bag of rice left. But I knew not to use the stove or oven until I got some sleep. I don't know how many days I went without food but interestingly I wasn't hungry.

I think of this time when I read about Jesus and His forty days of being tempted by the devil.

P.S. How did I reconstruct the dates? Partly from an accounts journal - I had no expenses for two and half weeks. Partly because I had worked part time and so the "work days" would jump out at me and from that the days one or two days before or after a work day.

Wow 😲 @Realness

I can't imagine the turmoil you must have been in! I wish I could have been there for you! You described the two weeks without any sleep well. The food (or lack of it), the washing, the long walk. Did you have anyone to support you during this time? Did you experience psychosis at any time without any sleep?

I'm going out shortly to see a Fleetwood Mac tribute band and won't be back till late. I hope we can talk tomorrow. Be gentle on yourself. 💛

Re: Christian Chat

Hi @heartathome ,

Yes, you're right, there was psychosis. It opened up on Day 12 and stayed with me. The stressful situation had been unresolved for too long. I had broken.

At the time I felt God with me in a powerful way. I felt shattered into a thousand pieces. The pieces were flying everywhere. Being near people was not possible. I felt God saying, "She's Mine. No one is allowed near her at this time!...I've got this!"

No, no people to support me. I had fallen through the cracks. Unfortunately the person from work who did follow up lost it instead of helping. No witnesses. But at least I got a tiny bit of sleep from the shock.

I feel I should end this post praising God. God was there with me. His comfort, almost always, was greater than my distress and adrenaline. And I had a very entertaining mind thanks to the changed reality. It got me through.

All things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

It was an unimaginable time but God will use it for good.
