Christian Chat

Hi my friends, this is Bella here, I thought how nice & lovely to have a Thread for Christians. I am not talking about Religion, GOD is Love, GOD gives free will to us all in the world. I have a relationship with GOD through HIS Word-The Bible, most of my life. I became a Pentecostal Christian many years ago. Would you like to come join me here in this Thread?

I am excited about starting it, you can just sit relax, chat about your love, for GOD & JESUS. Or post encouragement for others. Support, or be supported with Prayer. Hey, would you like to, Praise & post links to Praise & Worship music? Stories, or experiences, poetry, fun things to help us have a giggle, lovely pictures, photos, there are so many things you can post & chat about that will Bless & Build us up in The LORD! Life is about giving, loving, healing flows from a loving heart, whom purely wants to- just give!

I hope & pray, you will receive, Peace, Love, & JOY!... & healing in your heart! Amen xo <>< Bella 🙂

Re: Christian Chat

I would come home exhausted and listen to him while he would talk about his studies for that day. To be honest, I thought I don't really care which year it really is. 🙂

Oh no! Too late now. Maybe I shouldn't have posted it. I'm not looking for any arguments! I'm not into the complexities of Christianity. It does my head in! I took it as if it was more about the order that the dates went in rather than the actual dates.

I have a simple faith but thought it was interesting. I was surprised because I thought the change over from BC to AD was when Jesus was born. It's only what I've heard from an ex-pastor about the Gregorian calendar, that we use today. I haven't studied it myself or intend to!

How are you @Realness

@heartathome ,

Yes, you're right. It can be taken out of context. Ask, Seek and Knock for God is the context. I should be more careful with my summaries. I think your post captured it perfectly. What is good for us in a worldly way is probably not spiritually good for us. Not many people who have asked to win lotto have won. But I admit to asking for it howbeit in a "Your Will" sort of way. Imagine all the good I could do 😀 - but God's Will has been No. Don't worry - I rarely buy lotto tickets. I do know one person who won a house. She looked at the brochure and thought that house is mine - I'm meant to win that house. So she bought something like a 100 tickets and she won it! I know another person who won some sort of jackpot, I can't remember what, and she said it came with curses - all sorts of bad things happened as well.

I'm off track but I have one other story. I know of a man who won a lottery house. He was driving out to see his new home when he had a fatal accident. I'm so off track now I wonder if I can redirect this but two of the stories suggest winning may not be the blessing everyone thinks it will be.

Jesus was not thinking of lotto when He taught Ask and you shall receive. He was thinking of spiritual disciplines like you said.

@heartathome

Hi there,

No problems with mentioning it. I probably shouldn't do it but I write the first thing that comes to my head. That time it was my friend and his search for the truth. And me thinking don't worry about the details.

I'm okay , @heartathome . I worked something out today or yesterday. Why I hate the medication. Why I make light of the psychosis it stops. It's because when I experience psychosis the biggest part of it, the part that is most real, are the invisible friends who keep me company. It is in no way about hurting people or myself. But it's not real. Hence I'm on medication.

But I admit to asking for it howbeit in a "Your Will" sort of way. Imagine all the good I could do - but God's Will has been No. 😄 I laughed out loud at that. Thanks' @Realness !! I'd like to think that it wouldn't change me but, who am I kidding! 😉

Feel free to go offtrack! I prayed to be able to pay a bill once (thirty odd years ago) and found $20 in the middle of my yard! 🙏 There was a frost that morning, but the crisp note was dry! Just enough to cover the bill!

I also found $100 in a gutter many years ago, while I was staying in a hospital and was able to pay the excess (after a week of waiting for the owner) God gives me what I need! He's a good God! 💛

@heartathome

I love the $20 story! God is good! It's like things being on special at just the right time. God is so evident in tight cash flow situations.

Re: Christian Chat

Don't be sorry about telling me what comes out your head. I'd rather know what you think!

I can understand you hating the medication! That's really not fair when all we really want is friends, to have them taken away (whether they're real or not - it is real to you!). I'm not suggesting you go off your meds, @Realness It's just not fair because psychosis seems like a nice experience for you.

I only understand psychosis (my son's) from his point of view and my own perspective, as his mother. His first few months of an episode (that lasted 18 months) was a spiritual experience for him. He loved it. Over the years, the experience soured and now he is left with cruel and commanding voices, to deal with (when he's in psychosis)! My son is neither aggressive nor has an interest in harming himself. He never has and psychosis doesn't change that.

I can't imagine you having a bad bone in your body! 💛

Re: Christian Chat

Thanks @heartathome for sharing your son's experience of psychosis feeling a positive experience (at least for the first 18 months). I have only ever heard it described in a purely negative way before. You must be an amazing Mum for your son to be able to share his experience!

Re: Christian Chat

Aww Thank you and you're welcome @Realness

I believe, there is what is classed as, both positive and negative symptoms to psychosis. My son was only well for the first couple of months of the 18-month episode (his first). He became very unwell in the end!

He was one that fell through the cracks. Because he didn't want to harm himself or others, he wasn't bad enough for the public system, but he was too bad for the private system. He was blessed that my psych intervened and got him help.

He's been in psychosis a few times now because of some sort of drug taking. He doesn't even say that he won't do it again anymore. I've put my boundaries up with him and told him that I didn't want him talking to me about his drug usage. He's stopped and I'm not so stressed all the time. I'll be there if he needs me. If I can't get to him at night (he lives an hour away) we keep the phone open so we can talk. I think you may have a very different story! 💛

Re: Christian Chat

Support button not working, @heartathome .

I fell through the cracks in a big way. It was unimaginable for everyone who knew me. I am usually the calm one. My emergency contact just thought I'd given them the flick. Didn't follow up on the absence of my weekly "I'm okay" phonecall.

But it's my responsibility. I knew I was doing very stressful work and I didn't have a good enough emergency contact. I was navigating staff bullies. Where there should have been support there was attack. But again I knew I was too stressed and I should have got out. My stress levels are my responsibility. Instead I just kept thinking how bad is this going to get.

Eventually a situation I couldn't sidestep arose (I'm a sidestepper not a complainer). Children were involved so I didn't think a quiet resignation was an option. Not being experienced at making a complaint I wrote my complaint, sent it and then "shook" in fear.

The workplace handled it very slowly. In the meantime I started to really shake and my mind started to race. Then I went down in age. Then a light through the ceiling and visions of spiritual giants. The psychosis had started.

The workplace should have picked up I'd crossed the stress line but they didn't.

That's the start to my story. It's long so I will tell it in segments.

Re: Christian Chat

No support button here either!

Thanks for sharing that part of your story @Realness . You must have had a very stressful job!! I never give my emergency contact much thought! Maybe I should.

Didn't follow up on the absence of my weekly "I'm okay" phonecall. I would have thought that was their responsibility to check and see what was happening. Isn't there a duty of care in there someone. Some places are just not worth working for.

Good on you for writing your complaint and sending it off! You felt the fear and did it anyway. I'm impressed!

Then I went down in age. What age did you go to? Then a light through the ceiling and visions of spiritual giants. Were you afraid at all at what you saw?

Segments are fine with me! I don't have a great attention span! I think you're being brave putting yourself out there! How do you feel now that you've shared? 💛
