I read 1 John 1 again this morning and saw a verse I used to know by heart, which is verse 9. Paul is relating that 'they' have seen Jesus and wanted to proclaim the message of salvation. The next part was about living in the light. I might read it again a bit later. My bible study teacher suggested I read 1 John first, as I didn't want to go into Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. I'm liking it. You are encouraging me to get into the Word. Thank you, my friend! 💛

1 John starts in such a beautiful poetic way. I always think of John remembering the transfiguration of Jesus when I read the beginning of 1 John. But maybe he's just remembering Jesus healing people, teaching and what it was like to be in the same room as Him.

I think that John is talking about seeing Jesus after His transfiguration @Realness . John saw Him on multiple occasions after He rose from the d*** I just asked AI about it, and this is what it came up with.

John was in the room when Jesus appeared to the disciples - John 20: 19 - 20

A week later Jesus appeared again to John - John 20: 26 - 29

John saw Jesus at the sea of Galilee - John 21: 1 - 7

John witnessed Jesus' ascension - Luke 24: 50 - 53

John saw the risen Jesus multiple times, spoke with Him, ate with Him and was present until Jesus ascended.

That's just what I think. God knows! 💛

Ooh, thank you for that @heartathome . The times the disciples saw Jesus after He rose have never jumped out at me when reading 1 John or 1 Peter (also written by an older apostle reflecting back on walking with Jesus). Apart from proving the resurrected Jesus I have not thought about them enough. Thank you!

Thanks for your poems. The care and thought you put into them. The honesty. I need to make notes before I post. I get to this stand alone screen and I can't remember the poem titles of the ones I really liked. Sorry.

I also like Revelation but don't really understand much of it. I love the glimpse of heaven from Revelation 4. I love that God through Jesus wins.

True story Thank you Lord! I didn't 'feel' His presence all the time but knew it was true! I can 'see' God throughout my life when I look back. 💛
