Re: Hello
(When I start feeling overwhelmed, I find making lists really helpful. Asking myself what I can do right now, what can wait, what has to wait, what is most important, what would help me feel better if I could do, what might need some extra time/resources etc... can kind of clear up some space in my head to start tackling things bit by bit.)
Truthfully I can't do this anymore, in my head everything needs doing now, or 5 mins ago. 😁 Which means things get half done, I'm distracted and end up no where.
It's hard to believe I once ran multi-millionaire dollar projects, had 20 staff and respect.
I can't even run my household anymore.

Re: Hello
Sitting in the same room helps, maybe giving them a token, like a teaspoon, for each item cleaned up ..... and the one with the most teaspoons gets to choose the dinner. TV has to be off.
Maybe try again, just the main things, for them to earn the take-away dinner.
Anything that resembles success earns a P ..... if you do this semi-regularly and they get to choose some of the rewards, you will find them starting to offer deals to you.
Make sure there is something in it for everyone, like the trip to the park, or the T/A dinner, so there’s not winners and losers ..... you’re aiming for a win for everybody.
It takes a bit of practice, but start somewhere. You will feel less helpless when something is being done.

I also sometimes stop and look at the circus that can be our home/my life, and wonder how I managed to find myself here when back then things were very different!

Re: Hello
You can build back up to it in baby steps @Leglessfrog078 .....
My home has come crashing down again, time after time, into a giant mess. I have had house moves, house floods, renovations, extensions, repairs, all while living in it, except the two house floods when we had to move out and then back in again, only for the second one we moved somewhere else .... it was like we’d had earthquakes.
Each time I had to start again from the basics .... clear a path .... get beds made, kids to school and collected, bathed, fed, homework done. Little by little I started putting things back together and back into place, even if it was only two pieces of paper, or matching a pair of socks ..... if that’s all I could manage.
And guess what ? I am in that place again. And there are days that all I can do is make the bed, Put on a load of washing, and cook something. Whatever you can do, do it, even if it’s just pushing a chair back in under the table as you walk past it.
With the situation we have going on at the moment, I had a lot of pyjama days (threw a jacket and pair of boots on with them to go on the school runs - pj’s look enough like trackies that I even dropped into the local shops in them, and spent a lot of days on Bed Island, just running raids on the house to put on a wash load, or stick something into the oven, then back to my room.
Many of us here on the forums can relate to what you are going through. It takes time to recover. Just keep being as kind to you as you can, and working with the next hour .... do three th8ngs in the house every day, and only add on to that as you start to feel a bit better or stronger.
💜💐

Things didn't end on a good note here. I never use to understand how a mum could leave her kids. Unfortunately I do understand now.
I told my kids I wouldn't be here in the morning 😔. That I was going for a long walk.
There's nothing or no one to stop me.
I'm not going to hurt myself just walk until the pain goes away and my head shuts up.
