@Faith-and-Hope, @Phoenix_Rising, @CheerBear, @outlander and others.
I be got something I’d like to discuss .
I had an appointment with my psychologist today and I told her I was joining in here. She asked me A LOT of questions about it and I feel she was hiding her disapproval.
Feeling a bit crappy tonight....
Any comments?

Re: Hello
Good evening @Catcakes. I recall a similar discussion elsewhere on the Forums here about the exact same thing.
Personally, my psych encouraged me to join a Forum, which is the reason I joined in the first place. She thought I would benefit from talking about my issues in an anonymous setting. I am a very private person with little to no support outside of the forums, which she is well aware of. No doubt she took all this into account when she suggested I would benefit from the interaction of a Forum. Of course everyone is different and everyone's situation differs enormously. So its highly likely that psychologists personal views will vary dramatically from psych to psych and for client to client.
I think what it ultimately comes down to is "how do you feel"? Do you think it is of benefit to you to have the support of fellow sufferers of MH issues here to talk to. People who understand what you are going through? The important thing however, is to not let it become 'your life'. You need to continue to interact with the 'real world'.

Re: Hello
I go everyday and cook, clean , shop, care for Mum.
My brother came down from Sydney and she sparked up so much which was nice to see but I often get “what are you doing here”.
Not sure about the psych

Re: Hello
I guess that was her concern, because she knows I’m not interacting in the real world at all

Re: Hello
As @Former-Member said, I think it's important to ask yourself how you feel being here and have that be what is most important.
I am not sure whether it is something you feel comfortable doing, but could you ask your psych about what was going on? I would probably say that I was sensing disapproval and ask why that might be. It's so hard to try and work out what someone is thinking and why, so coming straight out and asking them sort of stops a lot of the pondering afterwards that can happen with trying to guess maybe. It probably doesn't help you right now but I don't think there's anything wrong with asking that one if it is bothering you.

Re: Hello
Hi @Catcakes,
Like @Former-Member, I remember this topic coming up in conversation recently. I will try to remember where it was. I have a vague memory that @Sans911 may have brought it up.
During that conversation, some people shared how their psychologist had encouraged them to connect on the forum and other people shared how they had been warned away from the forum by their psychologist. Thus it seems there are really mixed views out there.
For me, Forum Land is my absolute lifeline. I simply have no other social connections. I wonder if perhaps those mental health professionals who caution against forums are concerned about one person's big feelings triggering big feelings in other people. I can certainly understand that concern - Forum Land can be a tricky place to navigate sometimes as you yourself have discovered.
Alternatively, perhaps they are concerned that somehow interactions in Forum Land aren't as "real" as face-to-face interactions. I can understand this concern too. The reason Forum Land works well for me is BECAUSE the interactions aren't quite as real. That is, the bigness of my muddle overwhelms people when they engage with me face-to-face (or even over the phone!!!), whereas it is kind-of dampened in Forum Land.
On another note, the situation with your mum sounds really tough. ![]()

Hi, I know it's late and everyone most probably watching the blanket show 😊
I had my doctor appointment today and she did write me a support letter for daycare. This way daycare us apply for 13wks for all 3 monkeys. That out one concern to rest. But nothing really for me except some blood test and a scan (she thinks d&c has removed all). And told not to be to hard on myself. I don't know what I was expecting to happen.
Could she have done more for me?
Have I stepped back into the crack. I hope not!
I lost it yesterday at my two girls. I had an appointment up the road from home. They been dragging the feet to get ready for school. So I decided they could stay home while info to the appointment then I would take them to school. I asked the to complete the dish and vacuum living and kitchen area. I was gone 45min and I returned home to my oldest doing her nails and middle child play on here Chromebook. These won't big jobs easy do in 10mins. So disappointed it's show no respect for me. Which I coping for everywhere. I asked to to try again and I pointer wear they missed. Ie cut bits of paper., Ice cream wrapper etc.
They still choose to not to help. Instead they did other things. I was exhausted by this stage and I had to nap. Waking up things continue and I sent them to bed early no dinner. (They woke at 9.00 and I had cooked dinner by then. So they did eat.
Please don't think I just sit and watch. I get involved to show them it quicker to complete the job straight away,, instead of fighting, delaying the job by other Menes.
I did bump into a person I use to go to school with and OMG she is having similar things happen with her. I hugged and thank her.
I actually felt normal got a bit.
Well think that enough for now. Happy for any help advice please
