Re: TRIGGERRED!!!!!

Hi @outlander

I read all your triggers and that is a lot but alas - many of them are common to live itself - not all though - and the idea is learning to live with a lot of it because it is not likely to go away

I do remember the times in my life when getting out of bed was a major task and it seemed like no one cared - and maybe no one did - but I survived

And I am glad I did because I am here today to say you can live with this and your Pop is a major deal in your life and I know you love him and I know how hard all of this is

In fact - the stuff you have on is a lot for someone so young yet you don't seem that young - and setting up house is a big deal - I think what has happened is that you really needed your mother to move out and take all the chores with her but no - she landed them onto you as if it was an unpaid deal she thinks she has

Time will pass - I can tell your for sure it always does - and you can gain strength and build up your own health and start to make some firm choices and this time isn't yet but it is coming

So yes - I hear you and I understand - I know it's really hard but you have your main priorities - your Pop and your horses and somehow getting yourself through it

I get it

@Owlunar

yes i have a lot of trigger and they are growing all the time, the last time i dont a triggers list for my psych it was 4 A4 pages long and yes most of them are everyday living things so its even harder but have to learn to manage.

im glad you survived too, not jsut for me but for yourself and your daughter and family.

yes responsibilities climb all the time and its both a blessing and a curse. more so a curse right now.

thanks for caring and listening @Owlunar

Re: TRIGGERRED!!!!!

@outlander - ok so you have a small job to do today. Then that box needs to be somewhere visible, like kitchen counter, lounge room or somewhere noticeable in your bedroom. When you take the card out of the box, you not allowed to worry about anything else but what's on the card ok? You are not allowed to be doing anything else. Your whole 15mins is focused on how you feel, what concerns you have, any fears, etc. You can keep a little notebook if you like, jot things down, but you don't have to. Set a timer on your phone for 15mins,then you can stop and put everything away. You'll probably feel overwhelmed, so go make a cup of tea and a quit 5mins for things to settle.

Re: TRIGGERRED!!!!!

@outlander@Sans911

I really like those ideas Sans - really good idea - I have done that kind of thing myself at times but not with the cards

Yes - Outlander - you have a lot of triggers but there is only one way to deal with them - or maybe two counting Sans' idea with the cards

And that's to breathe your way through all of it - and learn to keep this up - because you already know the alternative is visits to the doctor and hospital which is stuff you don't want to happen

Yes - this is really hard - and a lot to accommodate - but what are your choices - I am sure you don't want to end up at the ED again

I believe in you - I believe you can do it

Re: TRIGGERRED!!!!!

@outlander - ok, were just going to tackle one other thing on your list today, and that's enough to contend with ok?

Im going to lump these two things together. Friendships & dating. Btw, I'm no expert on these lil Sis. I have my own issues. But what I can say to you is that these will come. Be patient. You are going through a shit storm of stuff right now, and friendships & dating will complicate things. You need to be confident & accepting that you are a worthwhile, beautiful person with many wonderful qualities that people would love to know you. Just be you, don't try to hard to fit to others ideal or expectations. Let people like you for you. And that will happen in when your life settles a little.

Are there any Art groups near you, or other hobby groups you could explore, go along to? Shared interest often help to open the door to friendships. And let friends develop slowly, gently. Don't force it.

I hope this is helpful lil Sis

Well tackle some more tommorow ok
