Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

You got to try find some positives out of a bad situation and in the past I've done my head in over stuff that is never going to change makes you stronger and try learn from mistakes but it's hard to deal with bad stuff when your a kid I just bottled up everything and didn't talk about my problems to anyone, I had a really low self esteem from when I was a kid and I've used a lot of drugs and alcohol to try escape my demons but it's impossible

Good morning @Jimbo. Yes drugs and alcohol don't help. They just prolong the pain.
Hoping you have been able to move forward and start healing.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Hi @Former-Member, hugs for how you are feeling. I think many of us get emotional at times about experiences on the forum. I certainly have. It's a space where unusual intimacy happens and, in a way, many of us are so much more exposed and open here, despite the anonymity. So when something comes back at us in an unpleasant way, our emotions may be that much more intense. Sometimes I find that the best thing for me to do when affected in this way is to take some time out from the forum to do something different, like going for a walk to reconnect with the outside world. Sometimes just being outside in the 'real world' helps put things in calmer perspective for me. Or it may be that none of what I'm saying may be useful to how you are feeling just now. Know that I hear you though. And am sending hugs.

Thank you Utopia and Mazarita.

I did go for a walk actually for about 45 minutes. Cool breeze but nice. Lots of horses around where we are so I talk to them.

Normally walking helps, I am just generally drained at moment.

Well enough i have got it out and am walking away. no need to respond thank you xxx

Just feeling bummed out and peeved off again. Nothing to be done about it other than the usual ignore/distract/conquer. Decided after however many months that it was worth writing about the thoughts and scenarios that haunt the back of my mind, the loom of strings begging to be pulled, the mixing console's worth of buttons, levers, switches and dials itching to be tuned to just the right spot for the hit song maximum chaos. Tread lightly into the black, once you're in there's no way back, but through.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I've been really dissociated all today (Anzac day public holiday).

And last weekend & the previous weekend.

I've been doing my best to self-care - although very foggy minded & feeling not at all functional most of the time.

It's being alone at home that does it.

I've been trying so hard to get present & ground myself. Unfortunately nothing ever seems to work very well or for very long.

I so want to make meaningful use of my free time when not working (at home).

Its so frustrating & disillusioning sometimes.
