Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

@utopia - he sure did cause your reaction by his indifference and lack of care for you by his actions - and they speak louder than words!! When we open and up and trust another and they do not honour that we naturally get hurt. Nothing wrong with your reaction but there was a lot wrong with his character. Put the onus on who was at fault otherwise you could open yourself up to the wrong person again. It's not your fault he was an ass.

You opened up before trust was earned, but hey we have to at times take risks, and sometimes the need is so strong. It served its purpose at the time. Just don't allow this person to stop you from opening up to another in the future, you won't get hurt again if you really get to know their true character first.

Let them earn your trust then open up with the right ones. And they are only but a few. Sending you lots of love ❤️

Hi @Former-Member

Thanks for your message- it makes a lot of sense.

The insomnia is quite difficult to deal with atm. I think going into hospital mite just help me get some more traction in my life and perhaps being in a safe environment mite help with the sleep- I wouldn't be trying sleeping pills in there just to get some more treatment for my anxiety & depression through more intense CBT based programs and extra support from my Dr. Plus I wouldn't have the pressure of day to day living.

I do understand the stress and pressure from your family and their onging health issues because of the constant worry about their wellbeing and trying to help them as much as you can. I am glad to hear you are happy with yourself, I am also happy within myself too. I am hoping this year brings you more joy and happyiness and the spark within.

I've applied to go back to uni this year and to do nursing or exercise program, both are right up my alley. My passion as always been in sport.

Hi @Former-Member .... 😊💕

Its good to see you are setting some educational goals for the year.

It sounds like a break in hospital works well as a reset for you, and you are comfortable with that thought.

Taking the day to day load off, I can really understand. That's part of what I am experiencing here, because good cafe food is so cheap it's really not worth making your own while we're just travelling and it here permanently anyway, and that means the clean-up is not up to me either. The apartment is small, less to clean ....

Hugs .... ❣ Am thinking of you ....

Hi Decadian .... 😊💕

I agree with @Former-Member .... despite taking that step back, you still worry about the welfare of your difficult family members, as does @Former-Member .... you're big-hearted, both of you .... ❣

Hi @utopia .... ❤️💕

Still sending lotsa hugs your way. I feel fi you so much ❣ It really bruises when people suddenly cut ties and leave you blind-sided like that, but as others have said .... that's to do with them, not you .... I am glad you did take the risk and opened up and trusted, for the personal growth it gave you to do so, but it also exposes our vulnerability, and you are doing really well with the recovery from that, despite how you're feeling .... not least because you're in the arms of friends here, and it makes such a difference.

If you can, wish him well in his life's journey, knowing that he has lost the opportunity for something special with you, and he may well rue the day for the rest of his life ....

Meanwhile, I wish for much better than that for you .... and this awful experience will hopefully fortify you to keep opening yourself up to others because you can see that it's possible to survive the hurt and heal yourself with time and care. Gently turn it into a positive ....a survival achievement.

❤️💐

I worry the strength I need to move on with my recovery to be 'normal' is not happening...and I will be lost...

Hi @Matt12

Just keep moving forward in baby steps .... and we will walk with you. You're not alone, and many here have felt the way you do right now. That's what brought them here in the first place, and they are finding their strength by degrees ....

@Former-Member, one of our forumites gives the quote - "two steps forward and one step back is still moving forward .... "

You're not alone, and we would like to get to know you.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Hi @Matt12

It's true that many of us have felt the same, felt too weak or too far gone at the time to believe we could ever feel better or normal again. I was lost too. All I wanted then was peace of mind.

Dont look to the future my friend, it will overwhelm. Just keep focusing on doing your best each day and focusing on that is enough. Trust me - if you give it your all and even lift another a little along the way you can't fail. It's about not giving up and taking baby steps. Seeing even the slightest improvement, effort or good in each day - "focusing on that only" - not on regrets, the past or shortcomings. Only on doing your best now. And you will get there in time. I promise. Don't give up.

You can't see this now and that is why we will hold your hand with you until you do. You are not alone. People care. Please keep posting - no one will ever judge you. Sending warm hugs 🤗

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

@Faith-and-Hope. Yhank you. Yes it does make such a big difference having the open arms of friends on this forum support me.
I opened up to my best friend today and explained that I simply needed her to recognise that I'm sad and hurting about this - & to not brush my emotions aside. She really heard me which was wonderful.
Before I started my journey towards healing last year - this episode would have devastated me & sent me into that vortex of depression.
But I'm stronger now - thanks to my therapy and to the wonderful friends on this forum. So I'm simply sad and hurt and that's ok.
It's like we tell @BlueBay - we all just need to be heard. It's not about the issue itself - it's about people / a person recognising our emotions.
So thank you and everyone for not dismissing my feelings.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

@Matt12. Yes I've been there. I've felt like I'd never get better. That I couldn't keep coping. That there was no point even trying.
But there is.
There were times in my therapy when I went backwards. There was times when I felt stagnant - like nothing was happening. But there were those amazing moments when I had a breakthrough. When the 'AHA' moment hit. These moments kept me going. Even when they were painful (as most of them were) - it brought a sense of relief and a moving forward.
So please stick with it.
When we have a huge mountain to climb - often all we see is how far we are away from the summit. Sometimes we forget to look back and see how far we have already climbed. @Faith-and-Hope taught me this.
I wish you well on your journey. You will get there. We are right behind you & beside you & above you - pushing, pulling & holding your hand.

That's wonderful to hear @utopia ... so glad your friend understood ..., some people have that naturally, others need it explained to them.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

@Faith-and-Hope. Unfortunately my best friend is drinking to excess every day. This makes it very hard. But we spoke about her drinking tonight. She knows it's a problem. All I can do is be there for her.
But it does mean she's drunk every night and therfore, there is no empathy or logic from her.
But I found a lot of support from my friends here on the forum today. So, until my friend sorts herself out - I might just seek support from here.
