Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Hi again @Former-Member

Its horrible the chronic anxiety and not sure if you had insomina too but the lack of sleep is getting to me. I am so struggling with the insomina atm. I thought going into hospital it might help with getting my sleep back on track.

I hear you @Former-Member about how much pressure you are under and I hope you are taking some time out for you too.

In terms of HRT did you try any customized treatment?

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Yes, @Former-Member. I did suffer insomnia then too. Sleep deprivation can cause anxiety/depression in me. I can suffer it now for different reasons. The lack of sleep would be making your depression and anxiety worse and I truly sympathise. Insomnia can be cruel - a very common symptom of menopause also.

The psych hospital would only offer sleep meds for that I think? I wish I could tell you the one I am on as it's one of the better meds that doesn't produce bad side effects on a low dosage. I find it so helpful. Some of them are not so good.

My HRT is a standard one. I started on a very low dose but when this proved ineffective it was raised a gram and that did the trick for me. It took a bit of time to work out the right dosage but when I did it really worked well. So it can be trial and error finding the right dosage that works, but worth it. I have heard of other women whom were on customised HRT that also worked well for them. I slept better once my hormones were adjusted and my anxiety/depression eased and memory improved. When my thyroid was out that also caused terrible depression - it was quite disturbing at the time as I thought I was going mad. But once corrected I went back to feeling normal.

My stressors now are largely caused by my daughter and husbands health complaints. Otherwise I would be so happy as I feel better in myself. Sometimes stress can just suck the life out of you but I still try and find peaceful moments and savour them, making the most of my life. Like everyone, I wish it was a little more peaceful and easier but that is life.

I think once you have been on the HRT for awhile you will sleep a lot better. Sleep is so healing. Sending you a warm hug xxx

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I am missing my old friend. I miss talking with him. I miss hearing parts of his story. I miss being able to blurt out how I'm feeling and what I've been doing. I miss his responses.
Just a hard, teary night to get through, with little sleep.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Thank you @BlueBay. Your words made me cry. And I cry easily at the moment too.
I know I can't do anything about the situation. But I'm just feeling lost. I wish I knew why he stopped talking. Maybe because I was asking some tough questions about his past. I wish I knew he was okay. Not knowing causes all these scenarios to run through my head. And my anxiety is starting to build up.
Haven't seen my psychologist for a month. Was meant to see him two days ago, but because I'm working at the moment, I had to cancel. And I could really do with a debrief and working through all this 'stuff' about my old friend.
Although I know I just have to sit with it.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Hey @utopia. I'm so sorry it's been such a rough ride with this situation. I'm no expert but if feels like you are grieving two things, one a newly formed friendship that was going well and secondly hope of something wonderful. I think having that hope taken away is really hard. As someone who has suffered loss of hope a fair bit in the last fortnight I feel that devastation. Like you I think not knowing what happened is really difficult and would hit me hard too. I hope you get your appointment soon. I'm sure it will help. Go gently today. The sadness coming out is only natural so lots of self compassion. Sending hugs 💜🤗

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Thank you @Former-Member. I think you're right. I am grieving two things. I didn't quite realise that. But that's exactly what it is.
I just feel lost. And I wish I knew what went wrong. The tears just keep flowing today.
I'm sorry I haven't read what you've been going through these past two weeks. I've been so absorbed in me ; my 'stuff'.
But I do wish you well and hope you're grieving doesn't hurt too much and eases quickly. I hate seeing friends struggle. So sending you strength and hugs.
I have to wipe away my tears now. My best friend will be here in a minute. I'm going with her to drop her daughter off for access. Her ex is cruel. So I'll try and help her over the next couple of hours.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

Hi @utopia - sending you big hugs. You are a very special lady to help a friend whom is going through a hard time when you are feeling the way you do. You are strong - and hence why this weak chap did what he did.

I had a really good friend whom I thought the world of do this to me quite a few years ago. She had been through a hard time with a cheating husband then divorce etc. I stood by her all the way and she commented on how much of a good time we have when we get together. Then she pulled away for no reason. Leaving me feeling lost and hurt as to why.

Then years later we caught up on facebook and where chatting away happily and openly for weeks as if nothing happened. Everything was great and she was going to visit etc. At that stage of my life I was telling her how I loved where I lived and my life, my husband, my area near the sea and wanted her to visit. She seemed excited and we exchanged phone numbers. Then bang again - she unfriended and took herself off Facebook, then I rang her and there was never an answer. This time I felt bewildered again, disappointed but angry!!!! Yes she is going through a hard time but what she did was selfish and low. They could of least said why after the help and support offered. I did never expect anything in return - only mutual respect and that was not there. If I saw her again I would be happy to chat but never would I allow her another chance to treat me like that. Never allow a so called one sided friendship again. As I deserve better - and so do you.

It's them my friend - not us. I think what happened with my friend and perhaps yours is that they have seen strength in us that they don't have - they see that we are in a better place and that makes them feel inadequate!! So they wipe us so they can feel better! And you will find that they will associate with people who are like them or troubled who dont make them feel that low. Hence they stay in that state as they don't want better presently. Some whom are feeling like that can do hurtful things just to bring the other down to make them appear better to themselves. It empowers them and if others keep going back they will do it again and again for that reason and psychological abuse occurs. And they be as nice as pie to our faces....actions speak louder my friend. He has already harmed you psychologically (feeling lost).

I suffered horrific physical, mental, emotional and sexual childhood abuse and yes it adversely effects the mind. But that it is no excuse for treating others who show kindness and friendship like you showed only to be treated with no respect for your feelings.

Whatever the reason he was not thinking of your welfare as true friends do.....

They are the ones who are lost my friend and in your situation "it is his loss". Don't second guess yourself or let this effect your own self esteem and confidence. In time you will see this and move on to more genuine relationships who will appreciate your strengths and appreciate and love you for who you are - and will be there for you as true friends are. Other relations are toxic. See the end of this one as that and let go for your own well being ❤️X

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

@Former-Member. Well the tears started flowing again as soon as I read your response.
I think that's right. I opened up to him & was honest.
It's very rare for me to be as open as I was with him. And never with a man. Not even my two ex husbands. But it just felt natural, easy and right.
I couldn't figure out why I am so devastated by this loss. Why it keeps rehashing itself in my brain and then my heart. Especially after such a short time. But it was because I was so open and honest. I don't think I've ever allowed myself to be this vulnerable before. But I think it was the right time in my journey to open up.
But it's still a shock to find myself grieving over someone I didn't know for very long - and grieving as if losing a long time love.
Logically, I am responsible for how I react to any situation. He hasn't created or caused these feelings. I have - based on my reactions.
But knowing the logic doesn't make it any less painful.
