Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Today my heart felt like it broke. My younger sister had the 2nd chemo. I messaged her to see how she was getting on. She posted back a photo of her hair falling out. It just hurts me. She is trying to be postive. But my heart aches for her. Wishing this was not happening to her. All I seem to be able to do is feel for her and give her virtual hugs. And pray. I hardly know what to say.

I am troubled about my son who is now 23. He has never worked. And keeps mostly to himself in his room on the computer. I have no idea on how to help him. I tried to encourage him by just going walking with me. He did for a while. Tonight I heard him speak yucky. I hate it so much. And am not used to hearing it coming from him.

Rough few days.

I am told that I am highly functional, despite recent challenges & setbacks.

Functional or not - nothing eventuates, despite efforts.

I doubt things will improve or get better

Why stay around waiting when I know nothing will change

Staring at an application for an opportunity I have worked so, so hard to have a chance at, and the "You're not good enough. You're kidding yourself thinking you can do this. It's too hard. You'll fail. Don't bother trying. You wouldn't cope. You'd crumble..." is very loud and strong. It's all I can hear and think.

I feel so frustrated at how much effort it takes to even think about doing something, let alone to actually do it. This stuff used to be so much easier. It should be so much easier than it is.

What if no matter how hard I work or how much effort I put in, it will won't be good enough. What if maybe I am not good enough will never be good enough.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

My boss decided to check up with me yesterday about how my work is going, and it really stressed me out.

There's also a thing I'm supposed to do for work outside of work hours that involves updating my resume and talking myself up, and I've been procrastinating because it's hard to be positive about my skills when my brain is just going "no you suck at everything, why are you even in this job now?"

My boss was like oh with social distancing you should have more time to do it now. What I didn't reply with was the truth - um no, my life is pretty much exactly the same now as it was before. I wish the only problem was time.

I was meant to be working on this resume thing with my psych but it fell off the pile (and slid under the couch, then the dust bunnies took it and folded it into a hat) with everything else that's been happening.

Psych's suggestion when I brought it up seemingly a million years ago was to start by just writing the facts of what I've done and he'd help me put a positive spin on it next time. I haven't even got through the first part.

Today I am troubled that perhaps I have done the wrong thing. My younger sister texted me and said she was so sick of just drinking water. She is not sleeping well, and feels weak as well.

I did not want to overwhelm her further by suggesting things... Anyway I had the thought that sipping on a homemade veggie broth might be a good idea. But had no idea what to do with my idea. I am unable to deliver any to her. I don't get any money for shopping until tomorrow. So I could not buy any of the ingredients. Then I thought maybe I could text her friend and ask if it was a good idea to make some broth. Then I thought maybe my other older sister would know what to do. Then I thought mum might know what to do. Mum lives about 20 mins drive from my sister.

I had the recipe for the broth.

And what if its not wanted the broth anyway. I ended up asking mum

She said she would make some abs deliver it to her doorstep. But what if my sister does not want it. My mum would have spent the money to buy stuff. Might be wasted.

Maybe I am just fussing and fussing. I do not know. Thing is I do get ideas about things like making a broth for my sister. But then I wonder if my idea is good. And other times I do not know if I am fussing too much. Over and over my brain keeps thinking about this. Then I wonder if I have done the right thing asking mum. She will have to drive out of her suburb to get it to my sister. So I feel troubled about that now. Did I do the right thing by asking mum.

My brain just will not be quite.

ive lost any hope of anything being ok. I started making a plan for trying to tell my gp how things are for me, to explain how hard everything is and that im not ok at the moment by writing it down but realised that it would make no difference to anything. There's no changes or support that can be provided that will alter anything and not being able to see her face to face is impossible for me. The present is so hard and so confusing and everything reminds me of past things which is just as unbearable. I cant see anything ahead that could be ok. I'm just so tired of everything.
