Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away: No responses please

Got something that's bugging you?

Want to vent, but don't want a response?

Sometimes our minds can get stuck in circles trying to sort out an issue. This can keep you up at night, or make it hard to focus on other things. I find that putting things away, and not thinking about it temporarily can be helpful.

This is the place to get it out, and then give yourself permission to let it go.

Maybe you will need to get back to it some other time, but this is space where you can put it in a place so that you can leave it for some time and (try) not to worry about it in the mean time.

It's a thread where people don't need to reply, it purely just to get it out your worry and concerns.

If you want to show your support for someone, hit the 'like' button. In this thread, 'like' doesn't mean that you 'like' someone's issue, but you support them in letting it out.

So write down your concerns, put it in a vault, shut the door, and allow yourself to walk away from it.

Pls note: If you are reading other people's posts, please respect that they don't want a response. Show your support by 'Liking' their post.

Re: Worry Room - Get it out, and walk away

I'm willing & happy to do a Managing Emotional Distress (DBT) group - somewhat as a matter of urgency.

Yet I've only been told about (or referred) to public MH groups - that I cannot meet the criteria for, with waitlists of about 12 months.

My brother said just now: Dealing with such a long waiting list & rigorous selection criteria (for DBT or other MH Groups) – would badly adversely impact on anyone’s mental health, & would make it much worse (especially as I am already impacted).

My brother does not see how anyone can deal with such a system - I agree.

I need other options, if anyone can refer me to them – immediately (or soon) available.

This has been very bad news. I am virtually bursting into tears right now, as all the doors seem closed.

I've tried so very hard to access MH services, to cooperate with help, & to get things right - nothing has been going right at all.

Oh I'm so sorry @Adge

Do you have a thread you usually talk on? I'd be happy to discuss things with you...

Thanks @Hope4me

The Self care with major physical illness thread (I started) is the one I use the most.

This MH tail-spin (down-hill) all started with physical injury, about 6 weeks ago.

The pain was excruciating, I couldn't sleep through any night (for weeks) - that's what brought about the downward tail-spin (spiral).

I'm really struggling with my thoughts... it's all based around worst possible outcomes... and literally i cannot tell if they're true or not... it's absolutely terrible to be stuck in this predicament every day...

I'm disappointed that I've gotta deal with this on a daily basis... but yea, i supppse i gotta see it as apart of my illness... it's truly crippling... it really is...

Update... I've worked out that my paranoia has two extremes... and I've worked out that's it's heavily influenced by the weather... i think any symptoms WHEN you're talking mental health stuff has the two extremes... kind OF like the bipolar swing... no matter what diagnosis you're dealing with...

Several people mentioned having to change jobs & living environment, for the sake of their MH & well-being.

Maybe limiting contact with negative people too - that is definitely necessary in my case.

My work environment is toxic.

The system that I've been working under - the constant (weekly) major changes, never knowing where I stand.

I was forced to drive 82 Km, just for a 3 hour work shift - plus transport a client in my own car, at my expense (just for 3 hours work).

This is now frequent.

Never having time to adjust to the constant changed expectations (& procedures).

I feel sick & nauseous, even thinking of going there (or dealing with it).

I've known that I needed to resign (Quit) many months ago, even 1 year ago - yet fear kept stopping me from leaving.

So I never entirely got out, even though I know I absolutely needed to.

The longer I stayed, the worse it got.

Staying there has been literally soul-destroying.

Yet I've remained totally paralysed by indecision, & keep disempowering myself by continuing to work (staying) there.
