Re: MHCP

Morning everyone,

I'm learning a lot here myself!

We have our Topic Tuesdays sorted for the rest of the year, but I'm keen to do something on this in Jan / Feb. I need to find a guest who has indepth knowledge on this area. It seems like between you all, there's more knowledge here than any one professional may have.

I will keep looking for a guest though!

Nik

Re: MHCP

hi everyone

im stuck! i am eligable for a new mhcp in february so thats not the problem, the problem will be that my 10 sessions will probably run out quickly. i spoke to my gp about other options and she said she isnt sure what else to do until february when i can renew the 10 sessions.

so ive been trying to read all of this thread but really its making me more confused

im wondering if anyone know what the service is called where you only pay the medicare gap fee but your not limited to the 10 sessions? its not classed under the mhcp. its like its run privatley but the psychologist can claim back rather than me putting the claims through medicare to get the rebate.

my old psychologist (the one recently i left) use to run this way but i cant find the service anywhere!

Re: MHCP

@outlander - all I can find for you is to go to the APS (Australian Pyschology Society) website, go to find a pyschologist and once you've done that search there is a list on the left hand side which has Medicare Funded Psychologists. You will have to click on individual profiles for details but probably entails some phone calls for the gap fee. I hope this is what you're asking
