Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Hi @Appleblossom
Glad you are developing a good relationship with your doctor and maybe it's good that things are going a bit slower, kind of building a strong foundation for lots of progress on top to come. I'm glad that you are going to have some less pain I really hope that helps!

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Appleblossom. I'm up late watching Stephen Fry's 'The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive' on YouTube. It was recommended to me by my peer support person at the assessment meeting last week. Already doing my homework, lol. I don't think I was supposed to be doing it at 1.30am though. 😉

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Mazarita and @Appleblossom thanks for your messages a couple of days ago. I've been offline as my computer was corrupted somehow on thursday night and had to go in for repairs. This is the first time I've used it since and my hands are shaking really badly. I'm doing ok though. Almost ready to go and looking forward to seeing my brother.

Glad to hear you were accepted into the PHAMS program @Mazarita. Look forward to hearing more about what you do with them.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @eth. Great to see you back after computer troubles. It sounds like you have used the time-out well to prepare for your trip. Cool that you are looking forward to seeing your brother. Sorry about the hand shakes but glad you are feeling basically okay anyway. Thanks for the good wishes with Phams.

Re: Night Shift

I wondered how you were going @eth ... Computer issues pop up regularly for me too.

Post whenever you can or want to ... there is no pressure ... you might find it hard to get online while you are away ... I'll miss our chats but am glad you are doing something exciting and connecting with family.

Re: Night Shift

Now I just have to work my way through all the emails from the days off-line. Hands have settled down now thank goodness. Hope you are both well @Appleblossom and @Mazarita

Re: Night Shift

@eth Yay for your hands settling down. I'm travelling along okay but I'm not doing very well with the smoking. A little improvement but not much so far with the tapering-off method. I've run out of herb today so I'm just going to try again to not start that again. Fingers crossed I don't cave in.

Re: Night Shift

I am good ... I was panicky early today, did mopping etc, had an hour walking and a psychology session ... but it went well ... and I got my Vit D, had a shower and now have the cooler on. I can relax til 5 when I have a student.

Re: Night Shift

All strength to you @Mazarita. When I stopped I used heaps of library books to distract me.
