Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Hi All 😊

I'm home, and in my fave place of late ........ with my feet up ❣

I had the odd ten minutes here and there across the afternoon so I have sort of kept up with the flow here today, but now my "likes" are going to be coming thru all out of kilter ........ and there is 🌷 much 🌷 worth going back to "like". Soooooo good to hear the joys of the day - newly blonded hair, walks on the beach with the dog, found med script, resting up and pampering .......

We've got left over dinner from last night, cooked by D3 who hasn't cooked for a while, and nothing else pressing for the moment. Heavenly !

I had only my wussy walk to the coffee shop this morning, but figured I would be walking up and down at this bridal fair for a few hours - sooooo ........... ✅ got a "proper" walk today, even if it was in bits and pieces. Works for me ❣

Now, if I can manage to get myself to a massage tomorrow, along with a proper walk, I will have completed my list. Feeling pretty good about that, really .....

❤️

Re: Night Shift

@Kurra, I'm sorry that you're in pain. I'll send all my positive thoughts and vibes your way. 🙂 Hope it gets better.

I'm not tired yet... it's 1 AM. But it's okay.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Kurra, sorry you have a severely sore back. Glad to hear you have rested it and in the process caught up on some sleep over the weekend. Sounds like your job is really high powered and you are wise about recharging batteries. Hugs back.

At my place, I have now achieved pampering challenge no 2: changing bedding and giving the bed a nice fresh eucalpytus treatment. Sleep tonight will be fresh and lovely now. Clean me in a clean bed has to be a good start to the week.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Kurra

Sorry to hear your back is playing up, but also good that you have had the chance to rest it a bit.

I don't know if it was you I mentioned the Fisiocreme to, but with hypermobility soft-tissue injuries, this is a product that contains Arnica, Marygold, and other natural products that give a heat-release effect. I have found it the best thing, even to rub into the back of my neck when I have tension build-up and headaches.

I know your issue is different, but I hope it can prove helpful to you too.

Thanks for all the well-wishes, and I hope you feel better soon. The pain is the result of higher achievement elsewhere ...... I hope that is some consolation also.

❤️

Re: Night Shift

@Faith-and-Hope, I'm looking at Fisiocrem online as we speak. The one I'm looking at has the following ingredients: arnica, hypericum, calendula, malaleuca. I'm going to try it out mainly for my lower legs and feet which are giving me such grief they are stopping me from walking any real distance at the moment. Will let you know how it goes.

Re: Night Shift

@Mazarita I am so glad you feel like a new woman. I have a huge smile from reading that. I am feeling inspired by your success. 😊💜

@Faith-and-Hope, @BlueBay, sounds like you've both had successful days as well. You deserve to put your feet up for a while. Hopefully the massage will leave you feeling fabulous tomorrow @Faith-and-Hope😊💜

@Kurra. It's ok if your weekend hasn't gone as planned. I never thought I'd use the words pamper and myself in the same sentence either but at the time it felt right. I think with so much going on for you it will take a bit of adjustment but I'm sure you'll nail it. You seem a very determined person, I could do with some of that and I admire it. Maybe it's corny but maybe there's some truth in it- try and be kind to yourself while your readjusting to your new work schedule. I'm really sorry your back is causing so much pain. I'm about to take pain killers for mine for the first time in ages so I'm sharing back pain with you. Take care. There is always next weekend to catch up with stuff from this weekend 😊💜

im hoping that you don't reply to this because you're asleep @Snuchu but if not take care and thanks for your kind response. 😊💜

Re: Night Shift

Hi hope the Fisiocreme works for you @Mazarita.

Maybe they should add Fairy Dust to their ingredients list ....... there's something magick in it there as far as I am concerned ...... ❣

Re: Night Shift

I'm sadly not sleeping, but I'm just going with the flow right now.

Re: Night Shift

Make sure the lights are turned down low @Snuchu, and music is soft and low too.

You need to give your brain an understanding of what is day time and what is night time by making a difference between the two in all the little ways you can.

Lavender oil scent helps to promote sleep, and eating bananas, and drinking warm milk drinks (no coffee tho !!)

Hope this helps ...... ❣
