Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

@plasmo

I think walking really helps with emotional management too. I find I am better with that when I get out for regular walks.

@Former-Member - for when you're next on - I do walk with our dog sometimes, but he is so big and strong, and so full of beans, it is a very physical task to take him. We have quite a big yard that he runs around in all night, and we have someone who comes and helps with the garden and home maintenance. He takes the dog for regular walks too. It means I can take him when I feel like it, which is great.

Cooking is good too @plasmo.

i love cooking, but with my big household and full-on commitments, I keep it simple a lot of the time.

Interestingly, one of my daughters cooks a lot when she is stressed. I think it's really good for her as an outlet.

I don't have a lot of hobbies... Gaming is one of them.

Have you guys ever heard of an antipsychotic inhaler where if you start hearing voices you just inhale in the powder from the inhaler, similar to asthma inhalers?

I might be signing up for that.

No @Snuchu I haven't heard of it, but it sounds interesting, and a good idea.
