Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Jacques

You are a wonderful and creative man Jacques - and this part of our nature makes us sensitve to what is happening around us

I know how much your family means to you - and it's a terrible struggle for you to cope with alone

And I hope you take a break now and again - take a short walk if you are worried about your family - and keep writing your poetry - I have found that writing poetry when things are bad produces the best work

You don't know how other people see you Jacques - none of us can see ourselves - in that light

I will be thinking of you

Re: Night Shift

Thanks for your comments @Decadian. You are probably right about the police not speaking to me. It's only 9 flats (public housing) but we can hear a lot from one to the next and I have people who fight on one side and argue a lot on the other.

Heading to Dr again today and then to a friend's house for a while. I've used up all my data for the month so won't be around quite as much the next couple of days. It doesn't cost more apparently, just operates much more slowly and I'm refreshing pages much more often. Frustrating.

Be well everyone. Good to hear from you @Jacques.

Still thinking about you @Snuchu

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Shaz51

Thanks for asking after me 😊

Things have been really messy for us here lately, but we are getting through it all, step by step. I won't go into detail - a lot of it is small awkward stuff that you just have to wade through, and save your energy for the stronger tides. It looks like we are through the worst of it for the moment anyway, and I am tired, but okay ... 🌷

Re: Night Shift

Sorry, I have been reading the forums but I have had the flu. I connected with lifeline a few times. I have trouble typing too. Yesterday was 5 years since my brother died.

Would you like an image of a candle for him ?

Re: Night Shift

@angel333, i'm with you in grief 🍻 These anniversaries are hard. I find doing a small project about them helps at these times, or just watch one of their favourite movies. Light a candle & incense for them. Tell them how you feel as if they were there in person. Big Hug! 🍒
