Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

@eth Thanks, I'll try to remember to come back and have a look at that. There's a lot of information there by the looks of it.

I'm signing off for now, heading for bed very soon. Goodnight all.

I still am @Mazarita. 2 short sleeps for me so far. How has your night been?

Re: Night Shift

A bit over 3 hours sleep for me so far...

Re: Night Shift

Frustrating, hey? I guess it's going to be one of those days to enjoy the dawn and then try to get some more sleep. Do you have plans for today?

Re: Night Shift

Yes, the magical dawn and then more sleep.

Do you tend to make yourself get up earlyish again for the sleep routine or do you sleep in after fragmented night sleeping?

Re: Night Shift

It varies. A couple of times a week I sleep in if possible and have a 'me day' just catching up on rest at home not trying to achieve anything in particular and other days I try to sleep until I've had at least 6-7 hours total then get up and into activities but this last week or so I've not been able to sleep that much even though I've spent ages in bed doing mindfulness breathing. I'm feeling quite concerned that the lack of sleep might mean I'm borderline hypomanic and that's why I'm doing my best to have lots of quiet time.

Re: Night Shift

I'm better at the bedtime regularity than I am at the getting up time regularity.
