Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

It seems to be a fairly open site...??

Re: Night Shift

Sorry @Mazarita It's now about 2 1/2 years since I set mine up and I don't remember the exact link but I just googled it now and there are several sites about it. I know I didn't have to pay.

Re: Night Shift

That's okay, @eth. I'm only finding sites that charge for their resources (aside from reading about it). But I am well supported at the moment with both psychologist and psychiatrist this week. Just curious to follow up suggestions here.

Re: Night Shift

@Appleblossom I also was overwhelmed with anxiety when my long-term GP left suddenly and hadn't told me, but in retrospect I've had much better care since with 2 different ones at the same clinic (one in particular). The first thing they did was refer me for the psych doctors, which the old one hadn't ever done and things have steadily improved ever since. Be brave and assertive 🙂

Re: Night Shift

Yes I was devastated when my gp left ( how dare she have a baby lol) and I haven't found someone that I really feel comfortable with since but my current gp is a mental health focussed gp so he really does know his stuff I suppose.
@eth change is hard sometimes but it is nice when it actually works out for the better 🙂

Re: Night Shift

I like that it is developed by users.

The Toolbox idea has been floated on this forum.

I have downloaded their plan ... I am not big on Louise Hay ... but like @Mazarita look around on the net.

I have been on this site for 4 months and been researching a lot from the different posters input ... and it has been mainly about me and my mental well being ... so I hope it all works out in the end. I am getting tired and am going to bed ... even though I have slept so much ... I also cancelled tomoroow's main event ...

Re: Night Shift

@Mazarita You could try www.mentalhealthrecovery.com . It says that on some of the pages in the folder I set up. This is reminding me to revisit the work too. But not tonight!

http://mentalhealthrecovery.com/wrap-is/ probably gives enough information for you to make a start with it if you want to.

Thanks for teaching me how to do links!
