Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

@eth, the chat just started. I'm explaining my situation right now, let's see what they say.

Re: Night Shift

It might be hard to do @Snuchu but I think it's good if you can tell them as much as possible about what's going on and that will give them the best chance of helping you appropriately. Best wishes for you to be strong with this and remember you are helping yourself and that means you have insight.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Appleblossom I'm doing ok thanks. I actually drove into town today and had my hair cut despite nearly cancelling at the last minute. My goal at the moment is just to do one thing each day and I've managed to do that for 3 days now.

I just saw your post in the 365 thread. Must be big news for you that you can do a claim for yourself and that you can have unlimited counselling. Sending you lots of strength to persevere with your claims and hoping the counselling goes well when it happens. How is life for you otherwise?

This morning I had calls from both psychologist and psychiatrist to see them again after nearly 7 months' break. I am looking forward to that. Just have to wait now, 3 weeks for 1 and 5 weeks for the other.

Re: Night Shift

I am ok. Quiet. By our age we get used to waiting @eth. It really helps when the waiting has an element of anticipation .. for something good.

I have also been limiting things to one per day and lately even less.. a few per week ... then crawling back to bed. it seems to be what I have to at the moment, but comfort eating and not exercising enough.. I am not teary or too down, taking meds as prescribed.

I was totally burned out being super mum juggling 5 balls in the air and then doing a dance routine while cooking dinner.

Just waiting for son to come home and do dinner. We are having continental sausge hot dogs.
