Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

@Mazarita Yea, I'm in the States visiting family!

well I hope you are going to add another 3 hours to that sometime soon. 3 hours of sleep just isn't good for anyone.

Re: Night Shift

@Faith-and-Hope, great that your daughter is enjoying the work. That makes such a huge difference. Good too that she's had sleep during the day to help her get through this one coming. A nap after the run to school sounds like a good plan to keep your batteries charged.

@Tyler77, yeah, I will get more sleep before long. I'm doing it in three sessions a day at the moment of about 3 (first sleep in the night) + 3 hours (dawn to about 8 or 9) + 2 (afternoon). Not good for 'sleep hygiene' but it's the only way I can function at the moment. Awesome you are overseas visiting family. What movie are you thinking of seeing later today?

Re: Night Shift

hey @Mazarita, I'm thinking the new X men movie is gonna be my pick. I've always identified with the X men, as I am different than most but blessed. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Tyler77

Time-wise, TAFE is about 15mins drive away from here, depending on traffic of course, so about half an hour for the round trip, only ...

Son 2 (S2) has to be at art class, 20mins in the opposite direction at the same start time !

Cool, huh ?! ❎

The good news is that D1 is going with D3 as her model tomorrow, so she will drive both of them. That leaves me free to drop S2, and be back for a tradesman by 10:00am.

Do-able ✅

Hi @Mazarita @Tyler77 @Faith-and-Hope @Snuchu @plasmo Just woke up again and looks like it's a busy night here.

@Snuchu Thinking of you and hoping the bath has helped.

@Mazarita I can totally relate to the noises in the night thing. So often it happens to me. Always leaves me wondering if it was a dream or real if I can't hear it any more after I wake up.

Re: Night Shift

Sorry @Snuchu we must have been typing at the same time. Things seem to be getting harder there. Can you ring your nurse and talk to her? I wish I could help in some way. Please don't hurt yourself. We are here caring about you and listening.
