Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @BlueBay

Glad you liked it 😊

Thanks for asking how I am.

Today was another really difficult day of juggling, but I can see the light at the end of this particular tunnel, which is encouraging. We are nearly through a pinch-point that has lasted a couple of weeks, and we are actually getting there, step by step. Yay !

It has taken setting a lot of mini-goals, and "postponing the worry" - thanks @Mazarita❣- to get through.

Thinking of everyone who has been posting tonight.

There are worries and concerns, and low energy for some, but there's also heaps of ❤️❤️❤️ being passed around too.

Hugs for all who need it, and thanks for the ones sent out to me today.

Sleep well 💤

Re: Night Shift

Hi @plasmo

I'm staying up, keeping my daughter company as she works to complete a portfolio due in tomorrow.

She was sick all day today, which really sucked, because there's no extension available. It was stay up and complete it, or don't pass the TAFE certificate.

Good news is, she's doing it ✅

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Faith-and-Hope, @plasmo, @eth (if you are all still awake), anyone else up at this hour,

Just woke up to a repeated clanging noise but only really heard it in my dream. Think it was the front security door of the outside stairwell being banged repeatedly and waking me up but no sound when I was conscious. People moving in or out upstairs yesterday and I think they're probably still at it. Weird experience waking to a sound in a dream and being unsure if it's real or not. My first thought was that it was someone breaking in or some kind of apocalyptic alarm. Shows you how my mind runs sometimes, doh.

Thinking of @Kurra's day today, sending more strength and kind wishes.

I'm awake. I'm really struggling today...

Hi @Snuchu, what's happening? Sorry you are struggling. Hugs across the seas to you!

Re: Night Shift

@Mazarita, I'm struggling with voices and them starting to push me. I'm also struggling with self harm ideations... Everything is attacking me right now.

I don't want to go to the hospital.

Re: Night Shift

That is hard going, @Snuchu. Is there an anonymous crisis line you can ring that won't be able to call 911 on you? Maybe you might like to talk more about why you don't want to go to hospital. I understand because I've avoided that kind of thing when I've been in crisis myself. But sometimes it might help. Not sure how to advise you because you sound like you are in crisis and we have no training as community guides, just our own experience to guide us. So sorry if I'm not saying the right things. Sending gentle vibes.
