Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Hi @Snuchu I'm here but not sure for how much longer. How was your night last night before you slept? I enjoyed our talk.

Re: Night Shift

@eth, I'm in a generally positive frame of mind this week because, so far, I've made three out of three of my planned activities outside the flat. That small sense of achievement is gladdening. More coming tomorrow, Friday and Saturday, all medical and/or mental health appointments. Sunday will be my next full rest day then it will start again next Monday. Hoping I can keep things up this time around and that, if I don't, I'll resist getting too down on myself about it.

@Appleblossom, totally understand your need to pull back from the forum but good to see you when you drop in. Take care, old forum friend, and hope things go as well as possible for you with what you have coming up.

Re: Night Shift

@eth, hey! In case you wander off to sleep, good night and I hope you have a good sleep.

I was, and still am, so depressed... I was denying that I was depressed, but recently I realized that I deny when it's true. Sigh.

I enjoyed our talk too, how are you?

Re: Night Shift

That sounds like a big achievement to me @Mazarita. Hope the next days of appointments go well for you. If you manage all that I reckon you deserve a treat of some sort. Also hoping your partner is going ok with the waiting period so far.

@Snuchu I've recently had the same realization about depression. That's why I'm trying to get out of the flat at least some days or at least do something small around the house to stay on top of things here. I've also told my Dr and arranged to start with a psychologist again. Just waiting for an appointment now.
