Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Mazarita @Former-Member @Appleblossom anyone still up?

Great going with the planning to cook and the less smoking @Mazarita And especially with sticking to the daily plan.

@Former-Member Do your children go to school weekdays? If so I'm sure you'll get more done tomorrow. I'm impressed by your consistent effort.

I got a few things done today that I've been putting off thanks to all the talk about getting motivated for cleaning lately on here.

Re: Night Shift

Everything is going into storage on Friday so just need to make sure everything is fine by then. Then I'll b able to breathe again!

Oh good on you for making a lunch date!! That sounds great!!
I'm going to try and do up a daily plan too for next week, I'm just not keeping up with anything and I need to be better for my lil rabbity children 😉
I also need to prove to myself and my psychiatrist that I can look after us really well so he will let me try going back to work... However I think that in someways working will actually energise me and force me into a better routine because that's the nature of it. But we will see... I'm also terrified that I'm not going to cope! Eek but that's just between us lol if my psychiatrist asks I'm 100% confident I can do it lol!!

Re: Night Shift

Just moving would be a huge challenge for me @Former-Member. You are showing how strong you can be with all that involves and parenting at the same time. What sort of work would you like to go back in to?

Thanks @eth 😎
My lil boy (4) is in kindy on weds and Thursday 😉 my big girl (7) is at school though. I am/was a teacher, I've been offered a job for next year which is great and would be so great financially but...

What are you up to this week?

Re: Night Shift

@Former-Member good luck with your goal to work again. My parents were both teachers. Mum still does voluntary remedial reading teaching at the age of 75. A worthy profession. Great that you've had an offer already and have time to work towards it.

I have shopping tomorrow then cooking dinner to share with a friend here tomorrow night. Chicken pesto pasta. Then Tuesday I drive a friend with mobility problems and bad anxiety and other health problems to her Dr's appointment in town - takes up at least half the day usually. Later in the week another friend possibly staying overnight so I want to get house looking cleaner, some weeding done, that sort of thing. That's a pretty big week for me 🙂

Re: Night Shift

Haven't made it before but it looks pretty easy and I love pesto in any dish or even just on toast.
