Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

My day is getting better by degrees.

I managed to land Daughter 3 in the lap of the school nurse and drive off. They have said they will handle her academic situation at school in liaison now with the family GP, if I can make it my job to just keep getting her to school.

Done ✅

We will all try to get her through this year and graduated, so she doesn't have to go at it again later, especially as we don't know what is going to happen with my husband yet ...

If she doesn't graduate this year ... well ... the world won't stop turning and it will mean choosing another option. At the moment she says she wants to still keep going to school and try to get through. Okay ...

Failed to get Son 2 out if bed and off to art class, even though he said he was going, over and over again. Now immovable. Chatted to him about depression and suggested (again) seeing the GP. He is refusing, saying its a sleep issue. I'm saying yes, but let's get to the bottom of that, and sleep issues lead to depression, so let's still get to the bottom of that ... nope ... head in the sand ... Okay ...

Not done yet ❎

Drinking Rose With French Vanilla tea, and burning a rose candle with my feet up ✅. I can control that much !!

Dearest @eth, @Faith-and-Hope and @Mazarita

Ille tell you all how I feel then...maybe I can get your feedback then.....write about how I think about the cramps...fears ??

II'm so so knackered all the time. I have memories of how my family was when I was little; thinking about the ladders I would go up and down inside my head to keep my parents happy because their relationship was paramount. I was always tired.

I tried to love my family ...all of them but were given no skills to love my brothers properly. It came out in disregarding my brothers and snobbing their ......vulnerability. I wish I could change that but I can't. My youngest brother is the only one who has worked properly on himself to have this caring relationship with me. N o one cared for my vulnerability.

I feel now, I have ...'copied..' this by loving my gorgeous husband. I just wanted to be adored and Im very adored but it's going up and down those ladders but.....there's huge relief at the end this time. Theres been ....relief.

WE both know that money talks and we just need to plug on get our lives good for us. But have things like; At 11pm, I get told ; yelled, to get the clothes on the line etc...etc...

I lose it occasionally and just yell back, make so so many mistakes.

When I read about these cramps, I have memories of my getting them when I was under huge stress.

It's just a memory and maybe an answer. Definately, without a doubt, the cramps in hands and legs are from medication because my husband and myself have these problems. Him more than me.

My hands shake and tremble.....I think it's from stress....

What do you think @eth ?

Re: Night Shift

Hi @PeppiPatty both cramps and hand tremors can have multiple causes. I am not qualified to diagnose them for you or anyone in these forums. I think they should be discussed with a doctor and also, if possible, a naturopath. I'm sorry but I think it would be irresponsible of me to go into detail of the causes when I have had both as I wouldn't want you assuming it's the same for you.

No-one should be yelling at you to get washing out at 11pm. Tell them to do their own washing. I would.

Re: Night Shift

Hi Sane Night Shift Family, Getting to know you all slowly, its nice.
Just had another disturbing conversation with my younger bro who carries the label "paranoid schizophrenia" secretly untreated. His world is very dark, negative, he has a strong victim mentality & thinks he's perspective is right. He hates muslims but says hes not racist, believes all his neighbours aaresecretly targeting hum with high tech lethal lazer beams. but he's not paranoid. Says nobody cares about him, even when i remind him again that i called to see how he was (he's interstate). I also wanted to question meaning of his email which was just a picture of a very unwell male going to the toilet. He explained it was a joke. I said don't share his humour & would prefer words than horrible pictures i can't unsee. This made him defensive & declare i just have to get use to him. Can't help but ask myself: What good comes from our contact really?
Then i rang home, dads upset they took his license for dementia (82yo) & mum's challenging the system to have it restored so he can keep driving her to the shop every day. Mar wouldn't talk to me, thinks i'm not sympathetic enough dad says (an interpretation of my fight to stay positive, rational, sensible & not be pulled under by the drama i think). Also they think I'm behind it because of my nursing background - which I'm not.

Only rang really to try connect, ground myself somehow, as I've been walking in circles today feeling surreal & lonely, & lost or so... It didn't help.

Glad you guys are here, this forum, and you don't burn out my limited downloads like facebook. Thanks guys for being here & giving so much 💛
