Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Hi @Shaz51,

I am sorry to read about your Hubby, it is so sad to see the state of the MH system, i do hope he can get into the doctors earlier than Friday, he sounds like he is really struggling.

My thoughts and well wishes are heading your way, take care, you are such a wonderful wife @Shaz51, so supportive, your hubby is lucky to have you 🙂

Re: Night Shift

Oh no, maybe tomorrow you could go to the doctors, I am OK, I have been really anxious this week, and I have a doctors appointment tomorrow which is making things worse, I hope they don't put me on BP meds

Re: Night Shift

Hi everyone - too many to tag everyone now.

Sorry to hear you had a rough day @Mazarita. Hope that the big sleep this afternoon doesn't stop you from getting some sleep tonight. Sounds like you really need it after the hype of the last week or so. I finally had some heavy sleep this morning even if it was assisted. I really needed it.

How are you going now @Former-Member? Is the breathing easier by now?

How are you going tonight @Angels333? Have been thinking of you today.

Hi back to you @Jacques

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Jacques, sounds like you are concerned about taking medications for bipolar. Is that what you mean by BP? You are the one who decides what medications you take. Your doctor is (or should be) there to help you. Even if they disagree with your decision, it's your decision to make. On the other hand, I'd have to say I have been helped by bipolar medications. I was much more torn up inside before being properly diagnosed and given more appropriate medications. Either way, I wish you the best for tomorrow.

Re: Night Shift

Hi everyone, so it seems like I had a heart attack. I'm 39!!

I asked my psychiatrist if I was overreacting and he said no.

Back to the gp tomorrow

I do think please just take me now, but I know that's selfishness and I need to be healthy for the kids.
