Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

@Former-Member can you make an arrangement to pay your court costs in manageable instalments? Or even appeal against having to pay them? Also you can get an interest free advance payment from centrelink if you still get any benefits from them. There are also various charities as @Jacques suggested that will do an interest free loan.

Re: Night Shift

Slow, deep breathing @Former-Member. Can you do just the basics the kids need this evening, put a movie on for them and just take time out? It sounds like you could do with a chat with your GP or even LifeLine later after the kids are asleep.

Sending hugs to those who are struggling and those who are having a calmer night. You're all wonderful for being here supporting each other.

Lots I haven't met yet... sorry I tend to hide out a bit in a few threads... trying to expand my horizons...

Hugs @Former-Member @eth @BlueBay @PeppiPatty @Mazarita @... darn it - I don't get the drop down for the @ tags on the phone...

So, sending hugs to you all... sorry I didn't tag individually... 🙂

Re: Night Shift

Cheers to you to @Silenus. Support is what we're here for, but it's received as much as given. I'm finding that even tho' I'm doing ok at the moment the communication here is really rewarding for me. I live alone and don't work so lately I have plenty of time on my hands. And I'm much better at making friends here than IRL at this stage but feel it is a step in the right direction. There are no support groups for bipolar or PTSD here in Darwin so these forums fill the gap for me.

Hugs and well wishes to you all @Former-Member, @Mazarita, @Shaz51, @eth, @Former-Member, @PeppiPatty, @Faith-and-Hope and @Appleblossom

I know how difficult things can get, life is full of ups and downs, when we are down it seems like we will never have ups again, when we are up they never last long enough, i hope you all soon have more ups than downs.

@Former-Member, Please try to reach out for help, i am really worried about you.

Re: Night Shift

Good evening @Jacques, @Silenus, @Shaz51, @eth, @Faith-and-Hope, @Former-Member, everyone,

I'm with @Jacques in hoping that you will find time to reach out to your professional support people, @Former-Member. Also agree with @eth that in the meantime, if you can, keep focussed on the moment by moment, breath by breath, rather than looking too much at the bigger picture. Sending hugs.

Thinking of you and hubby, @Shaz51. Disappointing that the MI team has withdrawn support just as you seem to need it most. Friday is getting closer now. Keeping my fingers crossed that you get some better help with the GP.

Always good to see you, @Silenus, hugs back atcha. How was your day?

Mine was not the greatest. Managed to get up and go to group meditation this morning but had a bad headache that just got worse over the day to the point of vomiting. Slept most of the rest of the day and feel much better now, though still a bit headsore. Aside from that, mood is basically okay and I gotta say yay for that.

Hope tonight treats everyone well.
