Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Former-Member and @Former-Member

My son died 30 years ago this coming winter - I miss him but not the trouble he was always in - he was a very distressed and confused person -

I am planning to go away for a few days - I have always wanted to visit the War Memorial in Canberra - one of my grandfathers was in the British Army and the other was an Anzac - and I have always wanted to see the memorial

Getting away for his anniversary is a good idea - it is never easy - and no one seems to notice the date but I am sure they know it - so I will be alone wherever I go

But Life Line is always available to talk to - and I can take my laptop and keep in touch with my on-line friends -

And I am enjoying the thought of a bus trip - I love flying but you don't get to see the country eye-ball to eye-ball in a plane

But he will be in my heart as he always is - I never go to his resting place - he is not there

Re: Night Shift

Thanks @eth - these anniversaries - for everyone for a really hard and unhappy dates in their past

It is always hard - every year is different - somehow the 30th anniversary is significant in a huge way

Re: iRe: Night Shift

Hi @Former-Member

I do understand - and I have a very strong philosophy about the reasons we do things - and one thing I am very clear about it that we do not do things like "keep things afloat" for other people -

If it is important to us - then we will do what ever we can - but if it just runs us down - it can tear us into pieces - really destroy us - and it is not worth it to make other people happy

I have paid the price - I can tell you - it hurts - but I know who I am and why I have been "hard to get on with" - and while I can never say I am happy about it - I know in my heart that being without my sister in my life - it's her choice to behave the way she does and I don't think she even knows

It is painful to be ostracized - but if we know we are in the right - we have no need to argue - and if we are in the wrong - we can't afford to

I strongly believe that it is better to live by our standands and listen to our hearts

If we do what we feel is right - at least one person is happy - if we do what other people want - the chances are that no one is happy

I do care and I wish you the best with all of this

Re: Night Shift

Thanks @Jacques

I am still not getting email notications

after having blood tests and a scan , found out hubby is having side affects , so the local doctor said to stop the meds and start news ones , but the new meds are totally different and not working

so we rang the MI worker to see if we can see the MI doctor , but she said don`t worry about the side affects -- just keep taking the old meds

Hello @Mazarita, @Decadian, @Former-Member, @Former-Member, @Appleblossom, @Former-Member,
