Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

@Decadian

I wish and hope that you will move into my place, right next door and once per week, just hear your wisdom when we have coffee at either mine or yours. Online is just as good.

you write;

I have paid the price - I can tell you - it hurts - but I know who I am and why I have been "hard to get on with" - and while I can never say I am happy about it - I know in my heart that being without my sister in my life - it's her choice to behave the way she does and I don't think she even knows

It is painful to be ostracized - but if we know we are in the right - we have no need to argue - and if we are in the wrong - we can't afford to

I write to you; I am so sorry about your son. You bring a refreshing wisdon here which is different than what others have brought. Thanks

Anne

Hi @Shaz51 hope you are having a better day.

Hi @Decadian I totally empathise about the difficulty of significant anniversaries and understand why the 30th feels so big. I support your decision to have a little time away and a change of scenery and time alone. Just make sure you are in places where it's safe to feel your feelings please. Thinking of you.

Re: Night Shift

Tof those who have been so patient with me over the past six months of trying to cut out the green from my life, I just want to say a huge thanks for the support.

@Jacques, you are so kind in what you say to me and others. I still have the tobacco addiction to tackle next. Down to between 6-8 a day at the moment but want to reduce to zero if I can. I'm glad you are my friend here too!

@PeppiPatty, the part of Kelly country I was in during the break is high country. Saw lots of kangaroos a few mornings, and wedgetail eagles just about every day. Aside from the mountains (good for bushranger hideouts in the past), there is cattle grazing and lots of tourism in the area now.

@Former-Member, so glad Monday wasn't as bad as you anticipated and that you felt the meaningfulness of what you are doing there. Hope today has been okay too.

@Decadian, sending kind wishes for the time coming up for you. Taking a break away sounds like a wise idea.

@Shaz51, sorry your husband - and you - are going through the roundabout with the meds. Unfortunately it can take a while to find the right medications. My understanding is that, with some meds, it is worth pushing through some side effects, as they can be short-lived and subside within weeks. With others, side effects need to be taken more seriously because they may, for example, include liver damage. I wonder what problems the blood tests showed.

@Former-Member, hope your hot yoga was helpful today. Namaste.

Re: Night Shift

@eth Thanks for writing that to @Decadian Ive been thinking about her 30 year anniversary today sending her care and calm friendship today.Also about your Mum, for writing about it. I was going very well until she came back home to PErth in 2006. I was slim, with muscles, working hard and managing my life, as best as I could. When she came back, I have this......nightmare......she is always so angry, She hangs out with friends who dislike me.

@Former-Member thinking about you today too. Sending you snoopy pictures and a cuddle from my dog Arlo

DEar @Angels333 I know exactly that you want to write positively. I also want every Day to be positive and every night. Then I take my medication and am faced with the day and the stress of the days.

So this is what I feel for both of us;

Get support get support. This is where you can find positivity within yourself

Maybe if you write about how you are coping

finding support

being too tired

write about the

paranoia/ illness.......memories.....

It will be able to open your mind to being positive.

This is a forum where people can identify with your need to get support and how you do it?

@eth just wrote to me about me trying to find a........answer to getting this nightmare of my Mum out of my life or get her to hear me or something

@eth identifies with what Im tyring to do and she gave me her journey in her relationship ..... Funny, I often think about how @eth deals with it and @Decadian and her son......I can see a stregth in her story that I can see in my son who lives in Queensland and he struggles......

Hello @Shaz51 !! Whts for dinner? I'm making broccoli, satay lamb and rice and onion....

Please write.....please write........

Re: Night Shift

I'm here if you want to chat @PeppiPatty. Do you have another thread going about your hassles with your Mum? I noticed twice today you mentioned things others have written to you about it that I haven't seen.

@Mazarita I was happy to give you support back when we first met. Sorry I haven't been around to help more but really happy that you have been successful so far. One day at a time. I always had a lot more dreams when I gave up. Has this happened for you?

Re: Night Shift

@PeppiPatty I just saw that @BlueBay has a thread started called Mother's Day. Maybe you two could help each other with what you are dealing with with your mothers.

It's in the Something's not right section.
