Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Hi @eth and @PeppiPatty

Where did I get it from? - oh my - that is such a wonderful thing to reply - thank you

One thing about getting older and keeping an open mind is the accumulation of experiences and learning from them and reading other people - and just caring

It means caring for myself as well as other people - and finding that families can hurt each other in horrible ways means that there are horrible people - but not the victims

This is one thing I have learned - the people who do the cruel things hurt other people - they hurt who they intend to hurt - but that damage hurts other people as well

For my friends who are younger than me - this is important - we so easily learn the wrong thing from the people around us - they tell us we are unworthy in so many different ways - and we believe them - which is so wrong

Because we are alll worthy - most of all - to be loved

It makes it worthwhile that I went through such a terribly dark place for many years in my life to be able to pass this on - we are what we are - not what other people tell us to be - but rather - what we find out for ourselves to be true.

Appleblossom is being heard - I really think that's the truth

Hi @Decadian

You write so well!

I love reading your encouraging words for @Former-Member @Butterfly @eth @PeppiPatty

Hey @BlueBay how are you going? I Haven't heard from you for a while.

Today I took a backward step. I woke up in a panick and I couldn't seem to ground myself. Oh I wish I could get a better grip on reality during these moments.

On a good point I'm booked into a new yoga school where my yoga teacher has all the wall equipment installed. I can't wait.

Awesome job on the new Yoga school! Hope that its good for you 🙂

Sorry to hear about the panic attack 😞 hope that you are feeling a bit better now. I took my kids to a camping expo thing this morning and started feeling dizzy because i couldnt breathe properly among so many people, but kids loved it.

Hey @eth hows the visit going? Hope you're getting lots of snuggles with your grandchild,

cheers,

LJ

Re: Night Shift

Dear @Angels333

There is something about you where I want to just write ...........

It's going to be fine...

Can we think of some things that you can set in place for you to deal with panic attacks in the morning?

I used to have them very very badly and now I'm medicated up and the kids grown up.........

SOME IDEAS;

Aromatherapy oil in the bedroom

Loungeroom

Bedroom

Kitchen

Do the dishes at night and have the kitchen clean at night so when you get up the kitchen is clean and breakfast things ready already.

Get up a bit earlier to be able to have a coffee alone and you can think nothing in the morning for a little while......Staying AT that moment......it seems to give more energy in the morning ?

If you cannot afford the armotherapy oil, try and get the good stuff in the chemist, can you put a little away each pay day?

I also like the idea that you purchase nice soaps to clean yourself with in the shower and a nice flannel and towel......just for you ???

We are free for you to read your strategies @Angels333

you have three childen right?

It does come back....never never did I think that my youngest son would come back especially when he was 16 years old........lived with my Mum for 5 years and she tried very hard for him to hate me.

Probably the reason why she cut me off forms of contacting her .......
