Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

@PeppiPatty

I have noticed that you are not posting or lurking as much as you used to. I wasnt worried but noticed, one eye up watching for you kind of thing?? Tell us what happened if you are ready.

Thanks for gut comment about moving house. I am not making decision quickly. I also think son is a bit rigid in his belief about things and just want to show him as many options as possible.

@Shaz51 Thanks for asking about mah booii .. He is doing well at the moment .. still no flare ups .. and I am gently pushing to get him more active and house trained. He is growing more gorgeous ... day by day. Nothing secure but mostly good.

I like this new lady ... she is out in her gumboots gardening for an hour and then off to the hairdresser .. she is older .. and has a cheery and a calming vibe.

I had another new weird coincidence thing. ,, a fellow who walked by .. new face .. said he had just moved in .. hello etc.. I told him I just pottered in the court .. he said, are you ..."my name?" He knew a person I who I got on with had told him I lived there .. so that new resident thing started off really well too .. Maybe change around me and not me doing all the heavy lifting will be good. Thanks for saying that. It would be good for my energy to be used to grow a life and not go through setting up the practical stuff again.

I just dont know how much is enough or too little or what to take for granted.

I am not super anxious about the girl .. just a bit .. I think we are all coming from a goodwill place .. but our flare up in January was scary for us all .. we have processed it a little .. which is good.

About playing the piano .. I was playing about 1 hour per day when son started to be interested in music and he is just too intense and gung ho .. not like me at all so I ended up shifting focus to him .. now I might play piano music .. about 1/2 hour per week .. tho do other stuff, singing, accompanying or teaching. I have been doing heaps of music out of the house so that has been good .. feel like a greedy cat who got all the cream .. I have been lucky to be in some utterly fabulous events .. so just have to bring up a memory of them when I hit a dark place.

@Former-Member its about the long haul .. white goods come and go .. you are doing a great job. Of course women are better than machines. Go girl.

Take care all

Re: Night Shift

Hi to anyone who is up, just needed somewhere to go, so I thought I would stop in and say hi.

Not sure what to say really, @Appleblossom please be careful of you go with your choir, it is very dangerous, sometimes one is better staying home.

It is so sad to see the world we have created, I wish people will move past petty problems, we spend so much money on hurting each other at the expense of peace.

Gosh we could have all advanced so far if we helped and nurtured each other. I guess that will never happen, people are too caught up in hate.

Sorry for the rant, talking about turkey got me thinking.

Good night all I hope a you all have a peaceful night

Jacques

Re: Night Shift

Gosh I just caught a kid breaking no into the house next door, why can't people leave others stuff alone, their are so many services out their for them, I had no income for 7 years and not once did I feel the need to steal from others.

It makes me so angry people still take others possessions. They knocked over some plants in my yard but they could not get in anywhere.

Another day, another problem, it never ends here.
