Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

Yes @Appleblossom our house is only 2 bedroom, my room is connected to the office, so everyone has to walk through my room, their is so privacy what so ever, so in actual fact I really have no room, I sleep in the main walk way. It would be so nice to have my own room.

Hi @Peppypatty, yes I am very anxious, life just always seems to get harder, nothing is ever easy for me. Thinking of you, how is your son going? How are you?

Hi @Appleblossom

Re; your sons' girlfriend........Personally, I dont know if I'de say....." there is no need to be. ' but Im a bitter middle aged lady who has a clean home thanks to Silver chain coming in a couple of days ago.

If you were Tony Abbott, you would probably have to say..."Ther is no need to be," because he couldnt take any rejection but it's up to you in how much she can cope with.

Re: Night Shift

Hi Apple,

It's been very difficult for me to write in the past week. It feels like my emotions are and have been too Hard.

Even now, I watch you know who roll a cigarette and I feel terrible, his breathing is awful and he can't breathe well once he finishes. And I feel, shivers, and I'm sad.........I have ni right to not cope. so Yesterday, I ordered some second hand books from Booko on making dolls for dollhouses. I WILL do this. I WILL order a tapestry from the site that @Jacques suggested to me, Ive seen the one I love the most.

I like my new PSychiatrist. My husband goes in to the room and like, they are old client/ PSychiatrist...typical.

Arlo is gorgeous and is barking at the cars (naughty) and everything.........but he is just GORGEOUS and we love him. YEsterday I went to Target and laybyed some gorgeous clothes. Yah. 189 dollars and if I pay 20 per fortnight i will have them soon yay! I always think that talking money is crass too.......

You write about moving Apple, dont do it babe. You have been through too much without having to cope with a huge change. And you have becaome friends with someone who lives near you...maybe friends. I dearly want to copy and play the music you show.

Alo the paragraph where you wrote about your potplants, several years ago me and my then boyfriend now husband, went into a grog shop and I saw the manager and checkout chick laugh at him. The next day, I was kind and everything and addressed it with them and now........I realise it was the wrong way, I shoud have been more........definate on my actions. Please think carefully on going to see their parents. Im so over teenagers destroying things...............

Thanks for reading............

I need to write my emotions so will today. I will do it.

Re: Night Shift

Hi again everyone.

@Appleblossom, thanks for your words. Great that you're off the instant coffee. About the pace of your recovery, I think it's highly personal and, when there are mental health issues at play also, likely to be more difficult. I also agree with what @Jacques has said about not needing to always be active in our creative spaces.

I've been on the downward slide for about a month now, the physical fall happened part way through that. A series of little events like that have accumulated and all the wheels have fallen off my efforts at outside activity and daily routine. But I'm travelling south next week so everything will change as I click in to my independent travelling self. I'll be away from home (and not much on the forum) for three weeks. Also, I go completely abstinent on the green from next Wednesday. That will help too. Still smoking tobacco but only halves at a time so that keeps the smoking much less than it was (in my mind I often thank @eth for that idea).

@PeppiPatty, glad you are enjoying Arlo and shopping while other things are going on around you. Good to see you.

Hi @Former-Member, @Shaz51, @Former-Member and everyone. Hope today treats you all well.
